I have this dress is black and would like to wear it with a belt to give it a little more character.  I was thinking a woven leather belt but I'm not sure.  I would love any suggestions.  Also, since the waist of the dress is a little high do you think adding a real belt (as opposed to the existing string belt) would look weird?  Please tell me honestly.  Also, a little more info. - the material is eyelet.  TIA!

I don't think it would be too high if the belt was at your natural waist and if it covered up the string belt (or if you can remove the string belt)

I don't have any belt suggestions because I'm not very confident in my belting abilities

That BR belt (or another medium brown woven belt) would look so cute with that dress in black.

shopchicago and theotherjess - too funny, these were the two that I was thinking about.  Which do you think would be the best?  Specifically, I'm trying to put together an outfit to wear to an evening picnic/party.
