PLEASE help me find a dress...
Permalink Closed

I so don't want to buy the size I am now but we have 2 eventscoming up...I need something true a-line, which is a little more forgiving on the baby belly. I'm pretty open to anythign but want to spend really no more than $100, since I'm hoping it won't fit in a few months or so...
I kind of like this but wonder about the fit around the middle

Really girls I'm desperate I'll take ANY suggestions

I ordered that dress (and returned it) but here's my opinion. It is a very much a true A-line. It's fitted through the waist and flares at the hips. I'm not sure how it would your belly...I know it is very forgiving in the hips and the thighs. The thing that bothered me the most was the length (it hit right below my knees and I'm 5'10.5"). If I had kept it I would have had it altered only because I prefer a shorter length.

Here's the picture I posted asking for opinions.

sfc, I think the dress looks great on you, but perhaps I am too short, only 5'5"...

i am thinking empire waist may be a good to think about in your search perhaps? and hopefully it wont scream "i just had a baby" since empire waists are everywhere these days?

$128, but maybe you could buy your usual size because of the way it is cut?

$108- i know the print is love it or hate it

if either event is at night- this may do as well, great for $69

i know these are further from budget, but i thought they were such pretty empire waist examples, didn't want to leave them out
$158$178

I agree, an empire dress would look nice and is more forgiving on the tummy

Try this:

Looks good with leggings also:

This one is black & grey, the first is blue & grey

I have this dress in Navy.  A girlfriend has it in Pink.  She wore it right after being pregnant and honestly no one could tell she had just had a baby.  It flares out and is very flattering.  It's $195 at JCrew but last time I looked it was going for a lot less on E-bay and they had a lot of them.

We both had ours altered to hit right at the knee.

Good Luck!

I just bought this from JCrew in navy and I LOVE it!  It's very forgiving in the stomach area.  Plus it can also be easily dressed up or down.  There were a ton in the store when I got it a two weeks ago, so they should be able to locate one for you.
