One of my co-workers just got a paper cut on her tongue! She was licking an envelope and ouch! have you ever done that? It hurts so much. My tongue hurts just thinking about it.

ouch! that's horrible!


I do heavy filing at my job since I'm at the assistant level and papercuts are the bane of my existence. They're really horrible when you get them in the soft area between your fingers.

I totally agree! Or you know what else is awful about paper cuts - when you get them from file folders. I do it all the time, reaching in my bag to get out a project folder. The cut is double thick when those suckers get you! And, it usually right on my knuckle.

The worst part is when you get a papercut and you have to keep filing... and the other papers keep getting into it AHHHHHHHHh

I eventually got to stop filing at the job I've had, but today I started a new job and I'm afraid I'll have to start filing there, too. I looked around and didn't see the huge, scary file cabinets I'm used to... so here's hoping I don't have to file anymore!

I think I've told this story before: One of my friends was filing at work and managed to get a paper cut on his eyeball from a file folder.

He went to the doctor a couple of days later, and the doctor said that it was a fairly serious injury and that had he not come in, he could have (worst case scenario) gotten a bad infection and lost the eye. Who knew clerical work could be so dangerous?

Yikes! That does sound awful, I can't even stand a paper cut on my finger, I can only imagine how her tongue feels.

ouch! tongue paper cuts are the worst! I used to get them all the time stuffing envelopes before I discovered the merits of a glue stick. Tell her to make sure not to eat anything too salty until it heals- ouch!!

oh ouch.  this whole thread is making me cringe.  i think i still have my toes curled.  reading about your coworkers tongue made me move my tongue in weird way and the eyeball cut made me squint.  im sure my coworkers are wondering why im making such weird faces.
