since it was almost 80 in my neck of the woods yesterday, I reached in my closet for a convenient pair of sandals (since most are packed away right now) and grabbed these... I've had these shoes for probably 10 years, and have only worn them a couple of times - with the cork, wedge, and platform, do you think they look current? or do you think they look dated... the thing that makes me think they might look dated is leather band across the top, but everything else about them says current to me... and they're comfortable... plus the leather band does blend in with my skin so it's not that noticable...

so, current or dated?

I don't know if they are current or not but I have a similar pair and still wear them as well.

i have to say dated, because i saw a woman wearing similar shoes yesterday and i cringed.  it's definitely the thick leather band.

I voted dated, but I think they are the kind of thing that many fashionable ladies (like you and Collette) probably still have around and would occasionally wear, b/c IIRC, they're really comfy. I can imagine seeing a fashionable person wearing them. I would probably think "Eh, not great shoes" but I don't think I would fully cringe.

ITA.  They don't make me cringe because they are so basic and neutral, but I definitely wouldn't call them current.

As long as they look good on you, I wouldn't care if they look "dated" or not.

I agree with asf that it's the thick leather band that makes them look dated.

yeah - I'm going to pitch them (they did go for $15 on ebay - so I'll probably ebay them) - besides, whenever I post something here for an opinion, I usually know the answer - when it doubt, the answer is no

I tossed some black ones the other day for the same reason. It's really the band across the foot that does it. The cork wedge still looks cute though.
