Okay...my dream dress is ready to be worn this Thursday night, but I'm having shoe issues. The shoes I thought I'd wear with it are not looking right...so here are my options:
It's kind of hard to tell, but the shoe on the right is an olive green suede. I thought the red would work, but now I'm feeling like they're kind of stumpy with this dress and it needs a higher heel. Thoughts?
Help! I am feeling not very confident in my choices today, and need you all to set me straight!
UPDATE: Okay, the wedges went back. DH liked them but the strings drove me nuts. I need something with a simple ankle strap. But I'm still in a pickle about this damn dress.
New options: red suede via spigas or black bandolinos.
and how do these compare with the green, which were the overwhelming favorite so far? Sorry to be a PITA about this but I am really struggling with this outfit for some reason. TIA!

I think the dress needs as high of a heel as you can manage.
As for the butterfly shoes, I really want to like them because I do think they're cool, but I feel like they're simultaneously kinda plain (the color is nice but eh) and kinda crazy (not sure how I feel about that butterly detailing on, would need a closer pic).
i like the color of the green suede peep toe, but neither shoe really works for me with that dress. the dress seems colorful fun and swingy the shoes seem businessy (is that a real word?) and your right neither heel is HIGH enough. . .
i am not really feeling the wedges. they are kinda blah. the butterfly detail is a cute touch, but it just doesn't kill me.
try these shoes from 9west. any of the colors should work, they have a higher kickier heel and since it is 9west the price is pretty low. . .
plus you don't have a lot of time to look around since your wearing it Thursday and you can always count on 9west to have things in stock. . .they are like the blockbuster of womens shoes. . .garunteed in stock.
i'm not going to be very helpful with this, but...
i like the red shoe from the front, but from the side the heel is not high enough.
the green is okay from the front, but from the side i love it. if you have to pick from these two, i would def. go with the green.
i tried on those nine west shoes dewdk posted:
and they are sexy as hell on the shelf, but they fit weird around the toes. the braided straps are really, really tight and make you think you need a bigger size, but a bigger size fits just as tight around the toes. i'm thinking maybe they would stretch out (the braided part is a nylon-y string that i think would stretch), but you would get wicked blisters the first time you wear them.
I still like the olive suede the best. I don't like ankle straps with this dress, JMO. But seriously, with a dress that gorgeous, no one's going to be looking at your shoes .

Ditto - I still like the olive suede ones. Because of all the lines in the dress's pattern, the ankle straps on the other shoes compete with the dress.
Heh. I did some browsing on Anthro and if you go to the "view on model" link for this dress on their site, it appears that they have put an ankle strap with the dress (I can't get the pic to post). Though it's an open-toe ankle strap, not closed front like the ones I am showing.
So...anthro mistake?
Anyway, I digress. The olive are my own first choice, because they're the most comfortable for 5+ hours of standing/working on a hard cement floor. So I think they're the answer. And they're three inch heels, which is as high as I want to do for a working party. Otherwise I won't be able to walk on Friday.
And yes - I will post pics tomorrow before I leave the house in all my gloriousness. *s*
Thanks for all the help!

Yeah, I think the open toe makes it better and it looks like the dress isn't as long on the model. Anyway, I think the olive ones look best. Good luck tomorrow
