I broke my camera after dropping if for like the millionth time. It is 3.2 megapixel and has decent zoom capabilities. I really like it and want something at least as good, if not better.
I'm considering the Nikon D70 because Dooce uses it and I love her and her pictures :), and she's always raving about it. It looks like it can be had for around $500-$600 and that's my limit.
I would also be interested in a small digital camera too so I could carry it with me easily.

I kinda want to buy online as I see those prices are way better than the big boys like Circuit City and Best Buy.
You don't have to be a member to shop at costco.com. Just an FYI... :)
I don't know alot about cameras, but I have the canon powershot sd450 and really love it, I know alot of other people that have it as well, and have had no problems with it. Im not sure if it has everything you need, but just thought id give my rec.

Ok, so far I'm gonna check out the Cannon elph (my first camera though not digital :) ) and I'll check out the pricing on Costco.com; thanks for the heads up, ladies.

I am also a fan of Canons - mine is an SD450 or SD500 - my parents bought me one two christmases ago and I loved it, but my cats decided they wanted it in their water bowl :(
They got me another one this christmas and I love it as much or more than the first one (it's slightly smaller and more MP)
I think they're pretty reasonably priced - we got mine off of amazon.com during a sale - and they seem to hold up well. i'm happy with the quality of pictures it takes.

Tritto I have this camera and it's awesome. It's small so you can just stick it in your bag whenever you feel like it. Plus (I'm such a sucker for gimmicks) you can colorize your pictures when you take them (everything is black and white except for blue details for example)! So cool! Plus it takes really nice pictures and has a good size screen. I got mine for less than $300 on amazon.
