What are your opinions on this show and Stacy and Clinton?  Here is what has happened to me.

Let me preface this by saying that I love Stacy and Clinton and the outfits they put together, but I stay confused. For instance, there was a show awhile back where the participant  was criticized for wearing shorts, but recently on the Today show Stacy was all for shorts and was showing off new styles. On one of the WNTW shows today, she critized pair of animal print gaucho pants but yet she was wearing a wild floral print dress on last nights show (4/28/06) Somehow, I feel that if that dress had been in the closet of anyone that was being made over it would have been thrown out.

I love this show, but I stay confused and feel like they are constantly contradicting themselves. I used to enjoy fashion, but it is just not as fun anymore because I am constantly second guessing my outfits and wondering if they look ok.

I think it is because people have many body types so certain styles of clothes work for you and some don't.  Or maybe they really don't know what they are doing.  I really hated her gray hair streak faze.  It didn't make her look wise, it made her look old!

i agree with this. i feel like most people on the show need serious help. like when they wear shorts they wear ratty gym shorts in public or old denim cut-offs. i don't think that's what they had in mind.

in general i never take anything they say as gospel. fashion & style are incredibly fickle. things that were out at one point almost always come back in style, skinny jeans & leggings are great examples of this. the most important thing is to know what works for you and not worry about what others think.

I really don't like this show. I think they don't take into account people's personal style at all. I remember I was watching one about this girl who loved pink and hated brown. Stacy and Clinton kept trying to make her buy brown things and told her not to buy anything pink. Why? If she likes pink, let her wear pink. If she hates brown I don't see any reason why she should have to wear it. As long as she's not wearing sparkle halters tops with stripper boots, who cares what color her blouses are? They pull that kind of shit all the time. Plus I think they're too mean. I would cry.

I love the show.  I also don't take everything they say as gospel, but most of the people they make over need some pretty strict parameters.  And with the whole personal style thing, I think sometimes they do take it into account.  However, they might be able to see that someone would look great in a certain color they have been avoiding.  Whenever they convince someone to try different things, the person is almost always happy with the end result.

Did anyone see this week's episode?  The girl was an artist and they really gave her a lot of creative ideas and I absolutely loved everything she ended up with.

I think the show is highly entertaining. I think Stacey is sometimes really off in what she wears, though. Also, I hate how everyone ends up looking exactly the same in the end - they're huge on jeans with fitted blazers and pointy heels. I feel like every single make-over has at least one outfit like that.

I also personally think Nick creates horrible hairstyles that look oily.

I really love the show. I think everyone does a good job of making the participants look good.

I also like the grey streak in Stacy's hair.

I like it. I think that any kind of contradictions Stacy and/or Clinton seem to make are just because different styles that they talk about are for different body types. I also ALWAYS think the people getting made over look better in the end, and that is the point right? Even if they do kinda look the same a lot of the time...

At the very least, it's entertaining!!!

I think there are contradictions all the time, I remember once Stacy was wearing a shirt with a noticeabley sequined/sparkly area around the neckline, and she told the girl not to wear sparkly things because they were tacky! It's one thing to contradict yourself from show to show, but to condemn someone for the same thing you're wearing?

These people do always look better. But I'm not sure that they take lifestyles into account very much, and I can't help but think that they try to change these people so much that eventually the overhaul is going to be too exhausting and they're going to go back to their old ways.

I like the show, but I suspect that people who don't like to shop won't change their habits in a couple of days and will revert back.

I just watched the Utah artist show last night and I am still puzzled about the "modest but also sexy" outfits the MO and friends were talking about. It seems to me that modesty in dress pretty much precludes sexiness.

If a woman is all covered up in her clothes, but they are tight and revealing, how is that modest?

I think you can definitely dress modestly and still look sexy. Her clothes weren't revealing at all, but they were more fitted and structured than what she was wearing before. I thought her make-over was one of the best ever.

Stacy has too many rules, which makes it seem too confusing and contradicting, but Clinton tends to make a lot of sense to me most of the time.  I like Stacy's style, but she's a few levels TOO sassy and sarcastic, I really don't like that.

Hey, and why does it seem like Nic Arrojo has to make everyone cut their hair off if they like it long?  What's wrong with long hair, it's certainly working for numerous celebrities these days.  I think that while a lot of the women he "chops" do look better in the end because they have style, they end up looking older or more matronly.  I think when your head is meant to have short and sassy hair, you know it and you can make it look great, but it's not for everyone.
