Favorite Song from a musical?

I've decided I love ShowTunes. So what's your favorite song from a musical?

Defying Gravity from Wicked or On My Own from Les Miserables

I've only seen the RENT movie once, but I remember liking one or two that Rosario Dawson sang. I've never seen a Broadway musical IRL.

Although they aren't Broadway musicals, I like the "movie musicals" Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Moulin Rouge. I don't know if I could pick just one from either of those movies.

I usually don't like show tunes, but I love, love, love the Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack. It is impossible to pick a favorite song! The weird thing is, I grew up without religion, I'm not a big theater fan, and the whole thing is sooo 70s, which normally annoys me, and yet it all works.

So many to pick from!!

I love almost every song from Crazy for You. Gershwin just gets me right there, ya know? But especially Someone to Watch Over Me. It makes me cry when it's sung by the right person.

I also love There's No Business Like Show Business from Annie Get Your Gun. So cheesy and fun.

If we're talking movie musicals, Moulin Rouge's One Day I'll Fly Away can't be beat. I had to go listen to it right now, just to hear it.

All I Ask of You (the first time it's sung, NOT the reprise) from Phantom of the Opera. My BF and I consider it our song.

Moulin Rouge...the guy's voice is just great! Parts of the movie are annoying but I still watch just to hear him sing lol.

Grease.

Annie (I must have overdone this one as DH has now banned it from our house lol)

Phantom of the opera

"climb the highest mountain" The sound of music

"If I was a rich man" Fiddler on the roof

"do you hear the people sing" Les Miserables

I think my favorite is probably "Do You Hear the People Sing?" from Les Miserables. It makes me want to fight a revolution.  I also like "Who Am I?" from Les Mis, because it's so cool when they sing at the same time.

I also really like "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" from Phantom. And the organ music from "The Phantom of the Opera" always gives me chills.

I loooooove musicals! I'm going to have to go with the entire Rent soundtrack since Rent is my favorite musical, but my favorite songs from it are One Song Glory, Take Me or Leave Me, and Goodbye Love (just cuz of the strong emotional impact). Defying Gravity from Wicked and the Cellblock Tango from Chicago are definitely high up on my list though. I think Into the Woods also has some great songs, and Les Mis of course...and well, I could go on forever but I have to go to bed soon.
