Am I too old for Urban?
Permalink Closed

Now that I'm losing some weight I am getting to a point that I can fit into some of the things that I've stayed away from because of sizing...now I'm wondering if I should stay away because I'm too old! My birthday is coming up & I'll be 34 - this is a hard one for me for some reason! I wear printed / graphic tees all the time & dont' think twice about it, but I also don't want to be that girl that young 20 somethings say "she's too old to have that on". Now that I don't have to dress for a corporate environment I'm having a hard time balancing casual vs. teenager. Here are somethings that Ilike that I'm wondering if I should just stay away from....
Ps - I'm not planning to buy all this but I like it & would wear it if I could.

this hoodie

Tanks & tees I like from Target, which is why I like that hoodie to layer because i'm not comfortable in just a tank

So what do you think? I just feel like I should glam up my image a bit because I feel like I'm always in tshirts, but to be honest I don't go very much since I work from home & I feel really stupid in a cutesy outfit in Walmart while buying groceries.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I will be 36 this summer and would wear the first four tops that you posted.  I wouldn't wear the ones from Target simply because they are not my personal style.  I know what you mean about the age thing.  I recently have been going back and forth over a skirt that I am wondering might be too young.

I think I'm pretty conservative when it comes to dressing; I'm 28 and think I'm too old for mini skirts besides at the beach, tube tops, and other low-cut type stuff.  I think everything you posted is age appropriate.  Actually, I think I want that hoodie you are in love with and think the second tank on the top row would look smashing with it.  Good choices, go for it!  PS.  Big congrats on the weight loss, I'm sure it hasn't been easy so you should be proud of yourself.

My BF is 33 and he buys most of his wardrobe at Urban/AE/A&F.

I'd never blink an eye if you wore all those things. You're so pretty and you look really young for your age so I can't imagine people thinking "oh wow, she's way too old for that." I'll probably be wearing all that kind of stuff when I'm in my 30s too.

I think everything you posted is totally age approriate, plus I second what lilykind said about you looking young. That said, I tried on that tunic-y thing and it was super unflatering.

No way! At least not any of the stuff you posted. They are all completely age-appropriate. You would look hot in them. I especially like the first and fourth ones.

My new motto: If 40 is the new 30, then I'm 19.

And you're 24.

So there you go. Rock them all.

Edited b/c I can't spell. Sorry! Just graduated from high school!

I'm liking this new age system!  You are my hero.  I am now my fantasy age.
