Do you have to have a membership there in order to purchase things?  If not, can you use someone else's membership then?

You do need a membership & you have to write a check (I think - I know I can't use my debit card), they check your id against your membership card. I've been with my mom & we both have cards - I have never been able to write a check using her card, I have to show my id too. I don't know what happens if you use cash though, I never have that much cash on me!

I have a card, but I've ranted before on here about Sam's... it's not my favorite place.  I do know that at our Sam's, you can use a debit card, their Wal-mart/Sam's credit card, or pay by cash/check.
