If you were going on a 6 day vacation to Disney World in the middle of June, what would you pack? Clothes, toiletries, anything I would need. I can't seem to get my list together. After digging through some searches here on ST, I found a wonderful system for packing (thanks to Drew!)... I'm just not sure what kind of stuff I should bring. Please post ideas for me because I'm pretty clueless. The last time I went to Florida I was 13, my mom packed for me, and it was December. I know it'll be different this time
Hmm, here's a basic list I would start with. I'm pretty familiar with Florida in June. Other girls, let me know if I'm forgetting anything important!
6 DAY DISNEY TRIP
CLOTHES:
-Casual tees (5) -Nicer, flowy, pretty tops (3) -tanks (6 - you might not need all of them, but they're so tiny, it's ok to overpack them!) -shorts (3) (bermuda or shorter, based on your style) -cotton skirts (2) -jeans (1 or 2 pairs - you might want to wear these at night when it gets a little cooler) -cropped pants (2) -Dresses (1 or 2) -bathing suits: preferably at least 3, so you can rotate based on whether you want to lay in the sun or do some real swimming, and you never have to put a wet one on -Suimsuit cover ups (hoodies? beach pants? tunic? whatever you like) -Light jacket or hoodie -Your own beach towel, if space allows -PJs -bras, underwear & socks
SHOES: -flips -comfortable, strappy heels in case you go out at night -a cool pair of sneakers or other flats, for walking around -wedges or espadrilles
OTHER: -Shampoo/conditioner -Styling prods -your blow-dryer, if you are attached to it, and/or if it fits in your suitcase -hairbrush/hair elastics -toothbrush/paste -sunscreen! -Body wash, razor, shaving gel -your usual makeup, face moisturizer -body moisturizer -self-tanner -iPod & charger -cell phone & charger -purse (2 bags, max) -any pills/vitamins you take -Sunglasses! -contacts/glasses/lens solution? -books, magazines, a deck of cards
Definitely bring a cardigan or lightweight hoodie for eating out at night. Restaurants and hotels can be super chilly due to the air conditioning and a lot of people think Florida is hot and forget this.
Theme parks get GROSS. It's hot and sticky, you will probably get wet if you ride a water ride, and you'll be doing a ton of walking. Wear something comfy, even err on the side of unfashionable if you have to. Remember whatever you are wearing you will most likely get tan lines in so don't wear a shirt with weird straps. Bring sunglasses and you may want a long strap bag so you won't have to worry about carrying it all the time. As for shoes, I usually wear comfy flip flops because sneakers can get wet or be hot, but definitely wear something really comfy to walk in.
Orlando is super casual so I don't think you need to bring anything really dressy. Casual heels and skirts is about as fancy as I would go, except maybe a really casual sundress if you have some place to wear it.
We have a ton of outlet malls here so if you're interested. You also need to go to the Mall at Millenia while you're here. It has all the really nice designer boutiques (LV, Chanel, Choo, etc) and then mall stores like Anthro, UO, Neimans, Zara, AE etc etc. It's really pretty too .
PM me if you have any specific questions (I live in the area if you couldn't tell) .
