scheduling workouts...long
Permalink Closed

I really want to work out more and tone up but I have such a crazy schedule sometimes. I work alternate shifts 9-5 or 10-6 with every second Saturday working and that Monday off. Also between the dog (she needs to be walked twice a day, once before work and once before bed or she'll be nuts) and house stuff and life, I am not finding much time to work out. But its really important to me to get off my butt so here are some options...help me decide what is do-able.

1) Tuesdays 7:30-9 pm Discover Yoga. (I have not done yoga but everyone raves about it)Would give me enough time to get home from work and make dinner for hubby. Cons- the studio is not close to home and parking is a bitch; would have to walk the dog after 9 pm

2) Fridays Discover Yoga 5:45-7:15. Could go straight from work (always work until 5 on Fridays) have dinner and walk the dog at a reasonable time. Cons- parking again, the class would probably be busy

3) Sunday 10:15-11:45 am Discover Yoga. Would have to get up early on my only regular day off, but have the rest of the day for usual life stuff. Probably be a busy class also

4) Thursday 6:30- 7:45 Beginner Yoga (different studio) close to work but every second Thursday that I work until 5pm I'd have to go home then drive back downtown an hour later. Also is in a place with bad parking.

5) Mon and Weds 8-9 pm Lane Swimming (I love to swim) fairly close to home, but would need to figure out a schedule to walk the dog.

6) Any weekday lane swim from 6am until 9am. Pros- pool is across the street from work. But would have to get up early to walk the dog.

7) The Gym- open from 6 am until 10 pm. Evenings are usually pretty crowded but is only 10 mins from home. Not sure of what time to go.

Sorry if this just seems like rambling, but it helps me to see it all laid out. Any input would also be appreciated.

I think I am leaning towards Yoga Fridays (2) and lane swimming Mon/Weds (5)

As I was reading, I thought the same that you're thinking. I actually think the Friday yoga probably wouldn't be too busy, just b/c a lot of people probably go out right after work on Fridays, and then the swimming would add variety.
