I have a little crush on John Krasinski, the guy who plays Jim on The Office. Anyone else share this? Tonight he was eating dinner at the same restaurant as me, just a few feet away! He is just as cute in person, and tall too. I felt silly going up to him, but still, the opportunity was there. (Of course, I am very happy with my BF and wouldn't do anything anyway!)
Although I don't have a crush on him, I can relate because I crushed hard on Martin Freeman, who played that character in the British version. I think the character is just so relatable and real, that its hard not to have a crush. You know if you worked w/ him, he would be your reason for trying to look extra cute every day.
I really like John Krasinski, too... he is so sheepishly cute, I'd be so pumped to be his gf (but don't tell my DH ). How cool you got to see him in person!
Yay, I'll tell more details then! He was dressed pretty normally, black polo shirt (I think) with some khakis, and a baseball cap. He was with one other guy and two girls, so maybe it was a date thing. He just seemed to be having a good time and looked like a regular guy without any "I'm a celebrity" attitude. The funny thing is, last week my BF said he had a crush on the girl who plays Pam, and I said hey, I have a crush on Jim so it all works out, and then there he was. Sigh!
i went to college with mindy kaling (she changed her last name once she moved out to LA) who plays kelly. we ran with the same circles in college, so it's cool to see her on tv now! and a friend of mine, brenda (who is good friends with mindy and wrote/starred with her in "matt & ben" off broadway) was a guest character on the episode where they were on the cruise boat. she was the NY manager or whoever was judging michael.
anyway, it's such a great show and it's cool that most of the characters are just "real people" instead of big-wig celebs.

I was wondering if Mindy Kaling had been at school with you! I remember you mentioning that about "Matt and Ben." She's very funny on the show. I agree, it's really cool that the characters are real people. I love Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam.
We were at The Spotted Pig (Greenwich and W. 11th). There were some other celebs there, too: Jay-Z, Mandy Moore, and Judy Greer, and David Schwimmer showed up as we were leaving. It was this alternate reality for a couple hours. I don't know why that place attracts so many celebs -- I didn't think it was particularly special.
I heard the lady who plays Angela on the Bob and Tom Show, and she's freakin' hylarious! She's not at all like her stone-faced character. She's funny and down-to-earth. She said something like "You know I'm nothing like my character, I talk a lot. I'll talk to a fence post if I stand next to it long enough!"
ahhhhh he's my ex boyfriend its so weird i cant take it!
Seriously? Lucky lucky girl...of course I only know "the office Jim", I have no idea how he is in real life. So was he an actor when you guys were dating?
mara... was he really your ex? That must be really weird... I wonder if he is as cool/sweet in real life as he is on the show!

Yes, ITA. :) Mara, I sympathize -- it has to be very weird for you see him in magazines and on TV and getting famous now! I have an ex whose mother is somewhat famous, and after we broke up I hated seeing her in the press. It was kind of an uncomfortable reminder.
