If she wanted an epidural, I'm really glad she got one.  Whether or not to use pain meds during birth should be a decision made only by the mother and her doctor/midwife/doula/whatever.

I'm a cynic, I think they gave her the epidural to ensure she would shut up for the whole "quiet birth" rule.  Now I guess she can't speak to her own baby for a week.

I don't want to believe this, but it was on the ABC nightly news... They said Tom wants Katie to sign an agreement that would waive all of her parental rights in the event of a split.

"Run, Katie, Run!"  (and take your poor, defenseless baby with you!)

According to the tidbits I've seen of Tom Cruise's interview with Diane Sawyer, Katie could have an epidural if she wanted one and she could make all the noise she needed to, but all other noises had to be kept to a minimal.  But who knows what is truth and what isn't these days.  It seems one day he is saying one thing and another something different.  I have to admit though, I'm anxious to see pics of the baby, I bet she's pretty cause that's a heck of a gene pool!

i agree on the first part, drew.

also that other part is so completely messed up. if everything else wasn't a warning sign, surely this should be to her!

Who would do that??? Who would ask a mother to do that???? That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard - it's SO not in the best interest of the child. It's insane. I don't want to believe it either.....but who knows
