If you were on "How Do I Look"?

I have been watching this show again lately. The part where the family / friends take pieces of their wardrobe & throw them in the garbage makes me tear up half the time because I know for me a lot of my identity is tied up in some of my most favorite garments.

If you were to appear on "How Do I Look"? What items do you think the people in your life would toss in the garbage?

My DH - would throw away all my shoes with any kind of rhinestones on them. He hates that
My mom- would throw out anything that shows my clevage
My sis - would throw out my leopard stuff & my pink camo pants

What about you?

For those of you who have never seen it, friends & family plan a makeover - 2 people close to you + 1 stylist picks outfits / hair / makeup for your new looks. But the first day those people go through your closet & throw out what they hate the most.....

My BF- would throw away all my sweatpants. He hates when I wear them other than to workout

My mom- would throw away my black converse that I have had for about 7 years. They smell, but I love them!

My friend- would throw away a tshirt that I got at the goodwill a few years ago. It is a Cincinnati Bearcat shirt, but it looks like it is from the 70's and I wear it every time I see her.

My DH - hmmmmm...this is tough.  If he hates it, I generally get rid of it.  He has a great eye for clothes.

My mom - my jean collection.  Not because they look bad, but because she thinks I should mix it up and wear more skirts, pants, etc...  She always laughs when we shop because I'll pick something up and always say "this will look great with jeans!"

My BF - my flat shoes.  She hates flats and thinks they are totally unflattering.

I'm always surprised at how emotional people get during the clothes dump.  I sometimes wonder if it's because they feel insulted too.  Even though I love fashion, I own very few things that would make me cry if they got pitched, lost or ruined.  And I'm talking stuff like my wedding gown, which I will never wear again.  If someone dumped my whole closet and gave me $$ to replace it, that would be fine with me!

I am not really sure what my friends or co-workers, family would toss but I know my hubby would throw away my converse and all my hoodies and sweatshirts. He wants to see my dress up a bit more and I tend to always fall back on my comfy clothes and then complain because I look frumpy!

do my scrubs count?   my bf would probably toss any type of clog shoe (either navy birkenstock work ones, black dansko, or my fun ones).  also probably my juicy sweats, or just general work out clothes.  my mom would probably throw out my simple brand clogs that i got with i was in 7th grade.  oh, and my dirty white work out socks and sports bras that i have also had since high school (typing that sounds sick...probably time to replace).

My mom would throw out my designer jeans. She thinks they're too expensive and too low.

My best friend from home would throw out all my masculine clothes. She's a very sexy person and always tries to get me to dress more feminine. Not girly, but urban sex bomb.

My best friend from school would throw out my weird stuff. Indian prints, big jewelery, etc. She's kind of trendy preppy.

My boyfriend would toss out all my pajams (he calls them snowsuits) so I'd have to go to bed naked.

I think that's it.  My family likes the way I dress.

Hubby would chuck my 2 pairs of cargo pants, he thinks they're unflattering.  I think he'd also arbitrarily toss 2/3 of my shoes.  I have approx. 75 pairs (I don't get rid of a pair of shoes unless it's really, really dated or I can't stand them any more) and he thinks that's too many, so he would just toss 2/3 of them so that I would have less shoes.  Not because he dislikes any, but because of the number of pairs I own.  It really bothers him.

My mom would probably toss every pair of jeans and pants I own.  She thinks that my pants *must* come up to my waist, and I don't own a single pair that comes up that high.  She's convinced that I know that my pants should come up to my waist, but that I can't actually locate my waist.  She's always telling me to buy pants that fit, followed by an attempt to yank my jeans up to my waist.

I don't think my BF wouldn't toss anything of mine, she likes the way I dress.

Ha! This made me laugh out loud. I love the, "do you even know where your waist is?" comments. Hilarious!

The boy would throw out one of my puffy sleeved velvet blazers. There's this one that he especially hates. He'd also get rid of some of my undies. I have a few pairs that are old and holey but oh-so comfy for certain days of the month. He hates them. He'd also toss some of my white beaters. He says I have too many. I do have a lot (probably 20) but to be fair, I wear one almost everyday. He'd also throw out some of my shoes. He can't stand how many shoes I have.

My mom would probably toss some of my trendier clothes. She doesn't really have an innate sense of fashion and certainly isn't into trends, so she always complains when I wear something out of the ordinary. Oh and she'd also toss my grandfather's old t-shirt. It's bright yellow and it has Tigers written on it. She hates it! She says it looks like I should be doing yard work. Ha! I don't do yard work!

My BFF... hmmm... probably some of my more girly and feminine things. She dresses fairly gender neutral and is fundamentally opposed to most things pink. Oh and she'd definitely toss some of my sparkly purses. Meanie.

DH would definitely chuck any pair of shoes that I've ever complained about.

My mom would just take my clothes and wear them herself--we have very similar style.

My bff would probably get rid of anything that wasn't low cut.  She likes to show off the girls a bit more than I do.
