Dress Dilemma - Need Advice

I'm sorry to hear about the dress issue!
I don't want to point out the obvious or anything, but Nordstrom does have a similar one on their site:

I've been eyeing this dress frmo Anthropologie for a long time. It's not exactly the same, of course, but it's similar and could work for what you need it to, for sure.

Have you called to see if it is carried in a store and not just online? Maybe they have one and could send it to you. I know Macy's does this, but not sure of Nordstrom's.

I did and they only have it available online

Well... I can tell you what I'd do.

I'd wait until the wedding to see if it ships early. In the meantime, I'd get a backup dress and keep the tags on it.

That's what I'm thinking - do you guys like either of the other two options (same dress in black, or halter style) as the backup? Or maybe better?

Thanks for the response. I actually think I'm going to order the black - I'm really pale and I think it would work better w/my skin tone than the gold anyhow..i was worried about that washing me out.

I wouldn't do black for a wedding, but that's just me. I'd get a different back up dress like Halleybird suggested.

ITA -- that's exactly what I'd do. The dress is gorgeous -- I hope you get it in time!

I like the gold halter Bari Jay as an alternative best, but the black one is pretty too. I personally wouldn't worry about wearing black since it has the gold underlay. I would definately get a backup dress and order the original one and hope for the best.

I agree. I think black for a wedding is absolutely fine. As long as you don't look like you're going to a funeral -and there's no way you could in that dress- it will be fine. I think it's really elegant, plus it has that pretty mocha-gold under it that makes it not a black.
