Easter Baskets

I didn't think I was going to do one for my bf but I just found out he's never had one before (a real one at least).  So now I want to do one and I want ideas for what to put in - I was thinking a cd or a shirt or something but I was also thinking maybe some "retro" ideas that we all had when we were a kid in ours - silly putty/things like that.  Help me brainstorm please.

silly putty's a great idea. what I would do is go to target or wal mart and get a big basket, easter grass, and just walk the isles and buy fun stuff to fill it up with - there's always the easter themed little toys.  I always liked the little wind up ones - I remember getting a wind-up bunny with a cart when I was a kid... obviously, I liked it because I remember it.  a big chocolate bunny is key... hmmm... just all kinds of easter candy and little easter toys, and a bunch of loose jelly beans thrown in

my parents used to get those plastic eggs and fill each one up with candy. Other than that I don't remember what else I got.

I do one for my bf every year and I always put in food items that I know he likes.  For example, he loves hot peanuts but doesn't really buy them for himself to keep in the house so I get lots of those and he like Reese Pieces so I get a bag of those and he also love Guinness Beer so I usually get a 4 pack of that.  Then I buy some bones for the dog and a few other little treats.  I do try to buy things he'll actually use (or eat) as opposed to "fun" things that I know we'll just end up throwing away.  This year I think I'm going to add sunscreen because he's been working outside a lot a doesn't wear any.  I'm not sure what else...

On the wind up toy point, I got my DH a wind up bunny that poops jelly beans as it hops at Walmart. They also had chickens - too funny to pass up!

I'd pace the aisle at Walmart & Target - there are tons of novelty things & you'll know what fits him. Not sure what it says about DH that a rabbit that poops jelly beans says "him"

Thanks yall.  I just got back from Target and the outlet mall here and I filled up an easter basket full of candy and other easter type things like silly putty, chicken stickers, a stuffed bunny, etc.  I think I got every kind of candy target had haha.  I just didn't know what classic easter candy to get so I just got it all.  I think my fav thing though is the lunch trays I found at bed bath and beyond that we all had in elementary school with the 3 rectangles on top, the fork holder on the left, the circle and the large rectangle on the bottom.  We were just talking about it on our drive to San Antonio last weekend so it seemed fitting to get two of those for his basket. Not eastery but nostalgic.

that sounds great!  when we got older, my parents used to put $ in one of the plastic eggs.  i always loved finding that egg!  if you don't want to do $ you could do like a cute note or an IOU coupon for a back rub or something like that.
