Bathing suit season is coming up - help! I keep seeing the dumb "how to wear a bathing suit if you have a big butt" segments on tv and I'm sorry but puh-leeze. A deep v-neck (to distract from my ass and thighs) with a different cut bottom is not going to all of a sudden make my thighs less thunderous.

So, with the condition that my thighs are not to see the light of day - EVER - what do I wear for the actual swimming part? I've got cover-ups down to a science (can I say I love sarongs?) but it's the getting in the water part that I dread every year. This year I want to enjoy my time on the boat, not worry about whether someone is blinded by the rippling of my ass.

Any solutions out there? I was thinking about long board shorts but I'm not sure how they would look. Also any ideas where to buy them? I saw some recently but I can't for the life of me remember where...

Help! For the love of my thighs.

I boardshorts. I am kind of a prude when it comes to showing skin and I hate shaving, so boardshorts are great for me.

http://www.watergirlusa.com/- Patogonia makes some. I like them when I am out on the boat. They don't ride up my butt when I am sking or tubing.

http://www.athleta.com/jump.jsp?itemID=0&itemType=HOME_PAGE- They have board shorts too and board skorts.

Old Navy has had cute board shorts too in the past.

Yeah, right? Apparently fugly skirt bathing suits are the only choice for those us more akin to JLo than Paris Hilton (albeit with the La Mer to slather over our whole body for the smooth factor). And when I say more akin to JLo I mean not at all really. It's quite the dilemma.

LOL I looked at Nordstrom too when I saw this post... scary!

I totally agree with what's been posted!  Board shorts are great.  I bet you could get them at a local surf & skate wear store in addition to those online.

Here's a cute set from VS:

If you aren't going for the board short look, there are some cute skirts around:

LL Bean has a cute skirt:

Target has a few:

The world made Roxy board shorts for girls with larger thighs.

I love the surfer girl look so I would get a Hawaiian print Roxy two piece and wear board shorts., but roxy makes good solid/less loud ones too.
