any good vintage finds lately??

I'm so in love w/ this vintage coin purse/clutch that I found last weekend.  It is about 6 inches long and is the perfect size for a debit card, cash, lipgloss, and cell phone on a night out.  It is a creamy gold color w/ gold, rose, and blue embroidery.

Has anyone else found anything they are excited about lately?  I love seeing what everyone hunts for.

I found a really ugly, fabulous 80's blouse this weekend!  I'll post a pic later when FH gets back home with the camera .

I am happy, happy, happy with these two totally out of season treasures:

Really tall vintage buckle boots. They're a little too big but that's easily fixed :)

Jet black Italian suede boots...slouchy, perfect fit, wear with up or down, I LOVE them!

minkiki, that first pair of boots is stunning! Do you mind sharing where you found them?

Damn! I've been stalking boots on ebay since last fall, and haven't come across any quite that nice. I'm a huge size 10 though, so that may account for the problems. Thanks for letting me know though!

Atlgirl, one thing about vintage sizing is that it's not the same necessarily as today's. I always go by wall to toe measurement (the boot against the wall I mean) I am actually an 7 1/2 but the boots are 8 1/2 but b/c they are vintage, probably an 8 in today's standard. I just put an Dr. Scholls insole in and a thicker pair of socks and they're perfect. I'm hoping someone with more experience in vintage shoes/boots can wiegh in, I just go by inches.

When you do your search (be sure to put it on Favorite Search too, so you get an email when something crops up) expand up to an 11 or 11.5 maybe and you might have more luck. I think I had tall boots as my search criteria and then narrowed it down to vintage, can't remember. I'll keep my eye peeled for you too, if you let me know what you are looking for, I'm on Ebay ALL THE TIME. :) Great thread, Luckylily!

i agree.  vintage shoes run super small in my opinion.

yes - I found this late 1920's flapper dress at an estate sale for $50. the lining needs to be replaced, but the rest of the dress is in excellent shape.  I just loved it - I thought it could be cool over jeans, and the beading detail and burnout velvet are both gorgeous... it's just that it's another "project" - I'm toying with the idea of selling it on ebay...

and I found this whiting and davis tortoise enamel mesh bag for only $25 at a local consignment shop - it's in perfect shape - haven't used it yet.

Pics of my recent finds :

The previously mentioned 'Ugly Blouse':

The sleeves are 3/4 length, and I plan on using a belt similar to this one I found (but maybe in a blue or teal or red) around the natural waist:

I also found this black leather belt with braided design:

Finally a bright moment in an otherwise hellish week.  On a buying trip I picked up these two vintage pieces for myself.  A brass over wood necklace and a dress by an italian protege of Pucci.  It looks to be a Japanese tree pattern printed on it.

I went to Ruby Lane and, I bought a 1920s carved Ivory brooch of an African Woman. It was a little pricey, but I just kept going back to the site to look at it for weeks. I knew I would regret it if it sold to someone else. The online store was having a 15% off sale, so I snatched it up.
