I don't know if I like this combo or if it's too busy. Part of me also feels like it's so...boring. I also don't know how I feel about the hats with it and it feels empty at the wrists/hands.

Is this outfit worth developing? If so, what would you add or take away from it?

It's a disaster.  Sorry!  It's just too much for me.  I do like the shoes and skirt together though.

Well, I think it's cute and very stylish! I like it with the first hat better. I also love how you incorporated the JS barb pumps. I could never pull this look off, but I think it's very lilykind.

You're totally entitled to your own opinion. No harm done. I'm a tough cookie.

I don't know if this makes it any better, but the reason I started to give this a try was because I noticed that the prints shared some similar/complimentary colors.

Ok, this is what I think--keep the top and change the bottom for something less busy OR keep the bottom (skirt AND shoes, I like them together) and change out the top.

I do like the pink with the skirt, I just don't care for the shirt and the skirt together.  Elements of the outfit are super cool, but IMO, they are better off having their own outfits so they can both shine on their own.

I think the hats are cool but I like the first one better.  I think you can always add a hat to an outfit and make it look good, because you are just a hat person

i actually like it and think you could pull it off. i think i like the first hat with it better than the 2nd one (although i love that pink hat!!!).

maybe you could try a simple, wide belt around your waist, over the shirt? it would keep the shape more fitted and maybe pull the pieces together a little more. and maybe try some bracelets instead of the long necklaces? not sure about that until i see it, though...or maybe try a different colored tee underneath--i think the pink works but if you are worried about busy-ness maybe a more neutral color would counteract that. but i personally love lots of bright colors so i have no problem with the pink!

I say lose the hot pink and add green.

I don't think it's a disaster at all. I like look #1 just "as is". It's great! Alternately, you could use detroit's suggestion of the olive green.

I think it's okay as is, with the first hat.

But, I like Detroit's olive green - I would actually keep the hot pink long sleeve, add the green blazer over it, and then keep all the other elements (including hat).

THEN, I would add a second pattern in the form of those printed bangles - in a complimentary color. You know the ones I mean? I think I've seen them at Urban and F21 - they have striped ones.

first off, i absolutely love that skirt.  it would fit perfectly into my wardrobe.

i like the striped top with the skirt, but then i'm a huge fan of pattern mixing.  i also like the pink top with the skirt.  but i don't like the tops together with the skirt.  i think you should switch out the pink for another color - not necessarily something boring, just something less in your face.  does that make sense?  and then wear the pink and the skirt with a different top (like the jacket detroit posted) or even just a black tank over.

you are the cutest thing evah!

With outfits like these, as individual as the person wearing them, I think it's more of a matter of preference rather than fashion rules/mistakes.  For me both looks are very crazy, busy, cool, and totally Lilykind.   I do like the first hat better though ;).

i couldn't diagree more! ;)
(and i think there are better ways to offer feedback than calling something a "disaster" - sheesh)

i love the shirt, the skirt and the pink hat. i also love the idea of wearing a l/s shirt under, but the bright pink is what seems to be "off" imo. i'm thinking maybe a color that is a bit closer to the color family of the rest of the ensemble - like an emerald green or a deep teal - something like that, maybe? have the pink hat be the "one off" color in the outfit - it makes it less busy but still creative and different.

I love everything else, just not the hot pink top. The pink hat is adorable!

i like the pattern mixing, but i don't like the pattern mixing combined with the bright pink long sleeve tee. i personally think it's a bit too much and distracts from the overall cuteness of the outfit. i would just skip the long sleeve tee altogether. i think a cami or beater in the same color would work well, and not be as distracting.

I like it. The only thing that I think is off, like some of the others said is the pink shirt, maybe a different color would look better under it, like picking up one of the colors out of the skirt. I love the shirt and the skirt though. Very cute.

I agree w/ Detroit's suggetion.

I think the pink hat (adorable!) would look cute w/ a green jacket.

I would love to see what you come up w/, so post a pic!

I disagree too, and I really think there is a more tactful approach to word your opinions Cortney.

Lilykind - I think your outfit is very cute & funky, just like you however, I like Detroit's suggestion of swapping the hot pink for the green.

This isn't the first time Courtney has reacted like this to a post....this is a supportive, constructive critism kind of board, maybe next time Courtney, try saying something positive, not just all negatives.

Lilykind, I think the outfit is super cute but agree about the undershirt...is that navy or balck in the skirt?  To me it looks navy so I'm thinking something in the blue family would look nice under the shirt.  Oh and I like the first hat best with the outfit.

I think if you subtracted the l/s pink top, then that would make it so much LESS Lilykind.  I think that one piece is crucial to the look but I'm obviously in the minority so I wanted to make sure my opinion is known!  :)
