Cleaning My Coach

My Patchwork tote is preparing to be put away for Spring/Summer.  Before doing so I would like to clean the suede sections of the tote.  Any suggestions on how to clean the bag??

Too funny you posted this today. I 'unloaded' my Coach patchwork tote this morning to do the exact same thing.  It's not really dirty, just a few marks on the edges of the lighter creme suede.  Mine came with the cleaning kit, so I'm thinking I should use that but I'm scared I'll mess it up.   Do you have the kit?

Maybe someone can speak from experience and give us some details.

Are you talking about the Coach cleaner and moisturizer?  DO NOT use it on your suede!  I pulled this info from the Coach web site so you can see what materials are and are not meant to be used with these products.

jacL - no, not the cleaner/moisturizer.  My Coach came with a little bag that has a cleaning stone with a grey side and a pink side, and a buffing brush.  Strictly for the suede.

Marg - that suede cleaner kit that comes w/your Coach bag does not work at all.  I have it and tried to use it on my suede Coach and it did nothing at all - I don't even know the point of that stone, it's useless.

My advice to you both is to go to a Leather and Suede store (or even Target may carry it) and buy a Suede Cleaner.  I have one that you just spray on your suede and then the top of the can is a little scrub brush - works like a charm for me.

Thanks! Yeah, I got that stone and block thing too - does nothing for my bag! I'll try that cleaner.  I was just worried it might hurt the colors, so I wanted to see if anyone had tried any.

Oh, ok, good to hear!  I just didn't want you to ruin your bag if you used the coach cleaner.  I should have known a fellow STer would be much smarter!
