Does anyone eat this yogurt on a daily basis. It supposed to improve your digestive tract if you eat 1 canister a day for 14 days. I just started the "system" on Friday and was wondering if anyone has eaten it and noticed a difference.

I haven't tried it, but have been thinking about it.  Does it taste like regular yogurt?

Yeah it tastes pretty good. The only difference I could tell is that it's a bit chalky compared to regular yogurt. Not to the point that I would say it tastes different or makes it difficult to eat. It's actually rather good, but the texture is different, not bad different, just different IMO.

I was looking at it with my mom the other day, we ended up just getting organic yoghurt instead, fewer ingredients and less sugar. My mom was really interested in it but with foods, especially dairy products I think simplest is best.

I'm curious - what's in it? Probiotics or something? And does it list "high fructose corn syrup" or anything like that in the ingredients?

I just looked at the ingredients. It says fructose corn syrup, not high. There really aren't that many ingredients in it, which I thought was good. Ah well...we'll see what happens.

i was interested so i decided to check out their website: http://www.activia.ca/Whatis/Activia.aspx

Why is Activia® yogurt such a great choice? - It is the only yogurt to contain unique BL™ specifically selected by Danone researchers. - BL™ is scientifically proven and clinically tested to survive passage through the digestive system, arriving into the large intestine as a live culture that stays active. - Activia® can truly be called a “yogurt with active probiotic culture” because of the unique additional friendly bacteria it contains: BL™. - It tastes great –consumers ranked Activia® highest among yogurts for flavour and creaminess in Danone taste tests! (Source: Cyntech, July 2003) - It is available in five delicious flavours – Vanilla, Strawberry, Prune, Peach & Fibre and Plain.

fyi: for anyone who is looking for a great supplement to help with digestion, i take psyllium husk.  it's all natural (a lot of metamucils, etc.. are psyllium husk with additives).  also, one thing i worried about with taking a supplement is that my body would grow a tolerence to it.  i wanted to see if my colon would adjust to not taking it, so i stopped taking it, and i did not become constipated, i just went back to my normal elimination patterns (which probably isn't normal for most people).  so from my experience, and from other research i've done, your body doesn't grow a tolerence to it, making you have to take it and take more of it (something i worry about with taking fiber supplements).  even with a high fiber diet(i'm talking HIGH), i still wasn't as regular as i wanted to be, this totally helps.  also, a lot of times when i specifically tried to up my fiber with diet i felt gross because not only did it not help, but it made my stomach hurt and kinda made me gassy (ok TMI), but it's true.  so this helps to add fiber without me having to worry about needing beano or something like that.

i just thought i would share.

ok TMI alert******

I decided to give it a try and have been eating one yogurt cup daily for 3 weeks (missed maybe like a day or two on a weekend). I have noticed an improvement with my BMs. I'm getting small ones daily rather than struggling every 3-5 days. I have struggled with IBS with constipation for a long time (tried everything from metamucil to Reglan). I didn't want to give into Zelnorm, having read the studies I have a hard time believing the data and refuse to try any medication that hasn't been on the market for at least 2 years (it was reformulated in 2004). While I trust the FDA, to many meds have bad side effects that don't show up until many people start taking them (something they typically can't duplicate in clinical trials prior to marketing them). And I read the "trials" on Activia on their website and if i remeber corectly most of them are less than 6 months and patients took up to 3 servings/day, with no significant SE but some decent data to support effectiveness. I figured a little protein and calcium is good for the diet, why not try one with a probiotic too.

So for me it has worked, not as well as I had hoped but a definite improvement w/o gas, cramps or other nasty SE from all the other "natural" and prescription products I've tried...

Just my 2 cents :)

Oh and mixed berry is my favorite. Blueberry and strawberry are ok and vanilla tastes like chalk and I had a bad experience with prunes...but that's another gross story...

I was going to try the prune flavor, but I think I'll pass
