Certified Mail Question
Permalink Closed

I won my boyfriend a rather expensive instrument on Ebay this weekend (his birthday gift I've been saving for) and the seller wants either a Money Order or Cashier's check.  I'm not concerned about that because he's reputable and has perfect feedback, but I'm wondering since it's a large amount of money to send through the mail, should I send it certified mail?  Wouldn't that require him signing for it, and in case there was a problem, I'd have proof he received payment?

What would you girls do in this case?  Is that the right way to protect myself?  TIA!

Hmmm, couln't you just insure it for the amount the check is for?  Insurance is cheap and comes with a tracking number so you can verify that it was delivered, and if for some reason it's not, you're insured!  Or you could tack delivery confirmation on there, so he won't have to sign but again you'll received confirmation.

I think Certified Mail is the way to go. Signatures are non-disputable!
