Good Christening Gift Ideas?
Permalink Closed

Does anyone have any? I feel like I always get the same thing. It's for my 4 month old nephew. If you have any ideas, please PM because my sister is a member here and it's for her son. TIA!

Silly girl, you don't need to get him anything.  Save your money!  You just bought a condo!!!  Seriously, your presence there is enough.

I just had my baby baptised last month and most of gifts were clothes. YAY!  We did get a really cute picture frame that could be engraved with his name and date, and silver-tube-thing to put the certificate in.  Something like this:

He also received a wooden-bead rosary, real boyish.  I really think anything goes...If your looking for a long-lasting gift you can always look into 529 college funds for your state.

We just went to a christening for a couple (friends of my hubby for work).  i won't post it here, but if you want to know what we got them feel free to PM me.  It was definitely casual and not particularly sentimental, but sweet and a good simple gift IMO.

While it can't be used right away, it will be really good to have: a children's version of the bible, or children's bible stories.  I absolutely loved my Children's Bible and kid's versions of bible stories growing up.  They really do teach good valuable lessons.  My favorite one was about the king that was going to cut a baby in half to prove who the real mom was.  It taught me about the power of love and sacrifice.  Anyway, just an idea.
