I don't see why you couldn't do this. The paint wouldn't stay on the parts of the soles that actually touch the ground when you walk, but the arch and the heel would be the only parts you could see anyway .....? Might work better on certain sole materials than others though.

ha! I was going to try to get some JS ones and have them resoled in red at the shoe repair shop, since I really only wanted them for this summer... yes, I'm bad...

Jessica Simpson's "Barb" style looks nearly identical to a pair of black patent Loubs with cork heels/soles from this spring (?). People have been snapping them up left and right, and they're going for around $150 or so a pair on ebay right now. If the JS Barbs were done up with red soles, I really don't think most people would be able to tell you if they were Loubs or not!

oh, I am sooo glad I wasn't the only one who thought of this!
No one I really associate with even know what Louboutins are. I think I am going to try it--I love that red sole so much. I wonder if some red spray enamel paint would work. I think I will try it on a very old cheap pairs of shoes first. I will let everyone know how they turn out.
Detroit, you're a genius. Do you know how much resoling (sp?) costs?
I don't know... $20? $30? and that's provided that they have red - although I don' t know why they wouldn't... especially leather soles - they shoud be able to dye them, wouldn't you think? I would live with the shoes without the red sole, but I'd certainly find a way to do it :)

I feel so much better knowing that I'm not the only one who would think of this. You're brilliant!
Please tell us what happens...I would love to resole my JS shoes in red. yum...
