The invites themselves are bad too (only 30 useable out of 100), but they have alot of personal info so you'll have to take my word for it.

Never mind! Yeah, I wouldn't pay a dime for those. Give them back to her and let her deal with you paying in court. (She'll lose, of course.)

Oh Elle!!  Those are not acceptable.  I hadn't read the back story when I first saw them so I just scrolled quickly and almost said its ok since you did them your self (which i thought you were).  But now that I know what you are going through I definetly wouldn't pay for such shoddy work like that especially on that hard to get paper.

Whoa, that's awful.  I can't believe she charged you for that and would see that as being an acceptable product.  If I were her, I'd be embarrassed for anyone to see that work.  Yikes.  I definitely think you should talk to her about it and you shouldn't pay her until you're satisfied.

Ohhh no, Elle, Im so sorry, I cannot even believe she feels you should pay for her time!  If you already paid, I would demand a refund!  I cannot believe she expects you to use those and the fact the went ahead and printed all of them when I'm sure she caught the discrepancy when she made the 1st ones!  Completely unacceptable!!!!!!

imo, i think you need to move on... she hasn't a clue what she's doing. find someone else to do the job correctly — and i'd be happy to help you out if you need me to... let me know, i'm meticulous with details — it hurt my eyes looking at those pics you posted.

she needs to be fired. i might pay her "design fee" for her time but i'm not sure i'd pay for any printing since it is unacceptable work. plus, since she ruined your paper i think she should cover the cost of the paper.

I agree! My invite designer might be able to help you, she is super detailed and loves paper. She doesn't charge a lot at all and turns it over in 2 weeks. My invites would have cost $1.35 per invite if I didn't have them engraved. Here is her website: Lichen Frank

omg, elle, not only should you NOT have to pay this printer *anything* but she should also reimburse you for the paper (that I assume you purchased) that she f*ed up with he shoddy printing. seriously, if i EVER delivered something of that quality to a client i would be out of business. that is 100% unacceptable.


i'm sending you a PM - i will fix this for you if you want. you deserve something MUCH better than this for your wedding, which you have put so much thought and attention to detail into. i want to help in any way that i can.

I just wanted to say that I think it is so nice to see Hot Cocoa and Smash offer to help. I know that would make me feel a ton better.

Also I wish you the best of luck, someone wise just told me that hopefully all these bad things are happening before the wedding so the actual day can go smoothly. It made me feel a little better.

You can always vent to me if you need to, because I totally understand how bad things can go wrong....

You guys are so great.  You have no idea how validating your opinions are.  And huge, huge thank yous to Smash and Hotcocoa for both your professional opinions and offers of help .  It's so nice to know that there are people on your side when things start to hit the fan.


I TOTALLY fired her ass.  You could practically hear her shrugging her shoulders through the phone , though.  I did pay her for her design time and the cutting fee for some smaller pieces, but that was probably still too much considering I had to replace 2/3 of my paper.


I am sooooo never getting married again !

I am so glad you decided to just get rid of her. Those would have been ok if you had done them yourself but hello if you are paying a professional, you should expect professional work. Blah that lady just pisses me off in the way she handled everything. Especially how you said she just copied/pasted what you sent her as an example. I mean really- if you wanted her to just copy/paste what you did- you would have just printed it yourself. What a moron. I'm sorry you had such a bad time with all this and I hope everything turns out perfect in the end.

is she crazy?? what sort of lame excuse is that...she better pay for the paper ruined AND give you a full refund..


 I would not even be polite about it. I was would be str8 up nasty and demanding. It is unaccetable.
