Shoes for this dress and other q's

Ok girls. I bought a Banana Republic dress for an upcoming wedding in San Miguel de Allende, MX. I am so excited and can't wait, but now I have to think about STYLE.

Do any of you have any shoe suggestions? I thought perhaps gold strappy sandals, but haven't come across any I love.

Second- I also have to wear some sort of cover up-since it's outside. Suggestions...

Final question-is this dress inappropriate for a wedding since it is ivory? I thought since it had a print it was okay-thoughts...

Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

My picture didn't work so I'm using a listing from E-bay...

here's the pic

do they do weddings differently in mexico?  because i would never wear a nearly-all white dress to a wedding...but it's a beautiful dress!  i think gold strappy shoes would definitely work.

Thanks for the help with the pic. As for your question, no the rules are the same. I think with the substantial print, it takes the focus off the color...I would never wear a solely white or ivory dress to a wedding either, but I really don't think this fits the criteria of "don't wear white to a wedding".

It's kind of funny though, I was at my best friends wedding a few years ago, and one of the groomsmen's girlfriends wore a completely stark white dress, in a casual cotton, that was completely see through. Forget the fact that it was white, under the lights of the ballroom, you could see all of her...And I mean all of her-sans underwear!

Would you consider wearing a cardi or a jacket or a shrug over it? Or some kind of wrap? I think it's an okay dress to wear to a wedding but if you're concerned about being proper, I might throw something colorful on top, even maybe just a scarf, to keep it from looking too white.

As for shoes, I'd go for a pair of bronze or gold strappy sandals.

Not too worried about being proper, just more concerned with being cold. Some sort of wrap would be good, but I don't want to cover the dress, it's so beautiful!

a pashmina would work -- you can put it around your shoulders without compromising the dress.

all shoes were found on zappos

I would do a coral or orange color wrap to go with the flowers in the dress.  Gold heels would look really pretty with it also.
