The short version: I love the skirt. Jury's still out on the bag. I desperately need self-tanner. Sorry for large photos and excessive whiteness.

First, the Anna Corinna wannabe. I bought this primarily for work.

Upsides: the size is good (I like my stuff to fit perfectly; I get annoyed when I have lots of extra room), it's very light, and it looks good worn both ways. I only have one other black bag, and it's more dressy, so it would be nice to have this one for weekends, etc. The front pockets are great for keys, etc.

Downsides: the leather is crappy -- it feels like faux leather, but I think it's real, because it def. smells like leather. It's a teeny bit shiny (looks worse in pics., though). I am a little worried that the handles can't support really heavy stuff in the bag, but I guess I could always use the strap if I am carrying a lot of heavy items.

without my lunch and files (so on weekends or at the end of the day):

Denim pencil skirt -- I LOVE this. It's exactly what I wanted for work. I have a great weekend denim skirt, but I needed a work-appropriate one (so knee-length, no high slits, not tight, etc). The wash is dark and even. The only downside is that since the slit isn't high, I can't take long strides, LOL.

HB - great stuff! Can you give info on the waist situation with that skirt? Is it high-waisted? Zipper? Button-fly? I have a hard time with finding denim skirts that sit a little lower so they don't ride up.

The skirt fits perfectly on you, halleybird! The bag is cute too. I know what you mean about the leather bags at UO- I got one on sale last year and the quality wasn't great but it had that funky leather smell.

That skirt looks great on you, and the bag is good too (hopefully it won't fall apart).

And the doggy in the background is cute too.

It hits right above my hipbones. It has a zipper and two buttons. I have the same problem, and it doesn't seem like it's going to ride up. Of course, I have been wrong before. I also have had problems with sizing up in skirts, because sometimes when you wear them lower, the pockets pooch out at the sides, and that isn't the case with this one. HTH!

cricket: Halley says hi!

Thanks for the compliments, guys. Any thoughts on the bag? It was $75 with the code. Worth it? The alternative is probably the chloe-looking melie bianco I posted awhile back, but that's fake leather. How crappy are UO bags, in terms of holding up? I'd like it to last at least a year of daily use.

I think the bag is really "you"- if you say it looks better than that IRL, I think you need to keep it!

And that skirt is smokin' on you! you look awesome in all those pics!

halleybird, I have a bag from UO last year where the leather is real but not great quality-wise. It has held up surprisingly well after using it for about a year. I saw the bag you got at UO last weekend and it's comparable to mine, so I say keep your bag. I think it'll hold up for at least a year.

thanks, that helps. I think I do want to keep it, because the more I look at it, the more I like it. I just wish the leather was nicer, but I guess no one's going to touch it but me.  I would have gladly paid a little more for nicer leather, but oh well. It is a cute bag, and the Anna Corinna is out of my price range.
