Certain Dri questions
Permalink Closed

i searched old threads on this product but none really answered my questions.

1.  if i put on at night, can i shave the next morning?

2. do i continue to use my regular deodorant in the morning?

3. how often do i use it?  every night?  every other night?  every third night? i did use it night before last and it is still working today

Absolutely.  Just don't shave and then put it on - it stings!

2. do i continue to use my regular deodorant in the morning?

Yep.  Certain Dri is an antiperspirant only, so it'll make you sweat less but you'll still need your regular deoderant for day time.

Every other evening is fine, or every 3rd evening if you don't sweat too much in the first place.  If you find you need to use it more often later, you can always apply it every night.  I wouldn't apply it nightly right off the bat because it can cause irritation.

tons of studies have shown that the aluminum in deoderants and anti-perspirants aren't harmful at all. it's actually this weird hippy-ish urban myth that wearing anti-per. cause cancer. So tell him not to worry.

just be careful with your clothes.  i ruined a number of things last summer and finally stopped wearing it because of that.  somehow the chemicals in it react badly with the chemicals in dry cleaning solution, so if there is some certain-dri residue on your dry cleanable items, it will turn orange/brown when it reacts with the dry cleaning and is impossible to remove.  i wish someone would have told me that before i started wearing it--i had some really pretty silk blouses that were a total loss.

Bex - not to hijack your thread but how did you get your perscription for Certain Dri?  I just noticed that the bottle I've been using is expired and I want to get a new perscription.  Do you think I can I just ask my gyno?

Good to know.  Actually, now that I think about it, I think the perscription stuff I use is called Drysol.  Maybe I'll try Certain Dri since it's OTC.  Thanks!
