I need some serious support!  Remember me, who started the confessions post about how I ate a whole box of chocolate covered pretzles and didn't share, and how I had IHOP for dinner???

Well, I am on a diet and this is how I feel about it:

Anyway.  Today for breakfast I had 4 fat free fig newtons.  For lunch I had about 10 grapes, an apple, a banana, strawberry banana fat free yogurt and water.

3:00 pm - my stomach is growling and I am starving.  Not a happy camper.

GIRL! You need to eat some more fiber dense real food that will fill you up & snack on that fruit. You aren't going to stick to it if you are miserable & starving. Check out some of the menus / meal ideas posted on the daily D&E posts - that will give you some low calorie/ fat options that will feel like you are eating something real. Maybe I'm off base but there is no way I could eat what you are eating & feel full or satisfied.

On the other end of this, props to you for taking the steps to turn around the eating monster. It's not easy....

Laken is right!  You also need a little bit o' fat.  Maybe instead of just all that fruit, you could eat some fruit, lowfat yogurt or cottage cheese, and a little turkey sandwich on a whole wheat english muffin.  And for breakfast, eat a bowl of cereal w/ lots of fiber.  Also, it's ok to eat a snack!  Just make sure it's a healthy one.  I snack on multi-grain cheerios or frosted mini wheats.

I would be starving too!

Thanks for the advice!  I do agree.  I had a nutri grain bar and feel a bit better.  It's just so hard cause I work with a very small group of people and 2 of them are so healthy it makes me so jealous!  They eat things like just fruit and yogurt or lettuce or some veggies.  I need substance!  Thanks for the ideas!

You HAVE to try the South Beach wraps in the deli section of the grocery store. Seriously. Those things have 22 grams of protein, 15 grams of fiber and only 220 calories! I'm a biiiiggg snacker and after one of those, I was barely even hungry for dinner. They seriously rock.

Also, the other girls are right. Pick some foods that are high fiber and have a bit of protein in them to help you last through the day. Fruits never fill me up. But they're excellent for dessert.

a while back in one of the diet threads, someone (I think it was elle) posted a bunch of great low-cal snack and meal ideas. Maybe someone here knows which post it was, or maybe elle can repost it. Either way, you need to eat more, silly girl! I feel for you.

Yikes, you must eat something with substance. If I diet like that I never last long because my primal instinct to eat food wins. I do best when I eat my most substantial meal for lunch and a light dinner. That way I can function through the day. Protein is really important to my mood and brain function. Fruit still has a lot of fructose, which is a "good sugar" but it burns off and leaves you hungrier than when you started.

I'm echoing everyone else when I say protein and fiber!!!  Definetly check out the diet and exercise posts and anything on weight watchers posts.  They always have good healthy ideas in there.  Or feel free to start your own topic asking about snacks/foods/recipes.  I'm sure you will get some good replies.

Ditto to the protein and fiber.

What you ate for lunch, while it sounds low cal and it is low fat, it's all sugar and it's not filling at all.  You'll be much better off with a low fat turkey sandwich or some fruit and cheese.  I really think it's all about moderation because if you're eating really unsatisfying meals on your diet, you're going to have a really hard time staying on the diet.

Anyway, I feel for ya!  Good luck!
