i have $550 worth of stuff in my cart at maxstudio.com. all of it is on sale.
i am moving to a new city, so i've been really good about not shopping lately, saving money, etc. but i am starting a new job, that is dressier than the dress-down dress code at my current place of employment. i could really use a few pieces that could mix and match so that i feel pulled-together and professional (i do have some business-y clothes already, probably plenty to get by if i'm being perfectly honest).
the other problem is, i have to pack everything up in boxes to move it. do i really need to be adding to my packing woes?
I think that $550 in sale stuff probably equates to more than you need to pack. You could probably get a few pieces and then wait till you start work and check out the environment before getting more, you might end up changing your mind on what you need. Plus, what's the fun of moving to a new city if you can't check out the shopping there. You could probably find some good bargains at cool boutiques (if it is the same city I am thinking of).
I'm gonna say wait. You have done so well thus far. There is no reason to blow how much you have been saving before you move. You won't get to wear it right away and it will just be packed. I would wait until you get to the new city. This will give you a way to get to know the city and also keep you from being bored/lonely when you first move there.

thanks for the support, girls. i just remembered that my car is due for its service appt., and i'd rather get that done before i move, so i guess i will spend my money at the dealer instead. boo!
