Does anyone know the brand of this shirt?
Permalink Closed

I found this shirt on ebay.  I really want it.  I'd like to know the brand, though, before I start bidding and end up going over what it's worth.  Besides, if I lose, I'd like to buy it anyway.  Any guesses where I could find this?

Thanks.

I don't recognize it, unfortunately.  Looks a little vintagey.

Why didn't the seller know the brand?  Is the tag cut out?

It's supposed to be new without tags.  It comes with some lip balm from Anthropologie, so I was wondering if it's from there.

I have an question in to the seller, but I haven't got a response yet.  I really want it, so I thought I'd ask here in case I don't get an answer in time.

Yeah, I'd ask them if they know the brand - as a seller I would put it in the description so I don't think it's unreasonable to ask them. It's really cute!

I think it's one of those generic shirts... the kind you can get out of country for really cheap. I don't think it has any "real" brand name to it. It looks like shirts I've seen in southeast Asia (except this looks more well-made) so unless you really like it, don't pay too much.

Just my observation though...

Yah it does look like a generic shirt from Asia. I doubt it has a brand. Usually sellers add in a name brand accessory (like the Anthropologie lip balm) just so they can have the Anthropologie name in the title. If the shirt was really from Anthro, the lip balm wouldn't be there in most cases. Lots of sellers do this.

I just got a reply from the seller.  They don't tell you the brand due to competitive reasons.  I think you guys might be right about it.  That sucks...

Ask them about the material- Is it soft cotton? or can you describe the feel of the shirt.  That is a good way to tell quality- cheaper shirts often don't have a soft hand- in that style of shirt- it should be soft, not stiff.  If it is stiffer- like a lot of anthropologie stuff, i wouldn't pay more than $25, which is probably what some $48- $58 anthropologie shirts are worth sold at a different store- they can just get away with charging more because of their name.

Yeah, no matter where it's from if it's cute & you like it, get it. I usually just set a max i'm willing to pay on ebay & stop there - not get caught up in a bidding war. I don't see an issue with it not being "name brand" & not from anthro if you like it, does it matter?

No, the name brand doesn't really matter.  It's at $31 and has 5 more days to go.  My max price would be around $35.  Don't think it's going to happen...

Whoa. I don't blame you one bit! That seems like a lot - people on ebay are crazy! That's why I like to sell there.

Yeah, it's the whole 5 day thing that throws me. Makes me think it's going to double. Plus I'm such a cheapie when it comes to ebay because I'm afraid i'll spend a lot on something & hate it. So you aren't crazy, i'm just cheap.
