Smart Water

I know this is a rip off. It really just has to be. But my DH swears he feels better if he drinks it (he always drinks water, so it's not just that he is drinking more water). It is expensive & I'm really thinking we'll go broke from this because really, I'm not drinking regular crappy water if he is drinking the cool expensive water! Have you heard of this - is there any difference at all? I think I remember seeing a Primetime kind of special on this type of thing & how stupid consumers are.....

Editted to take out that gigantic picture - sorry

it's the same as any other nutrient enhanced waters...like all the vitamin waters (both of these waters are made by the same compnay). the smart water has higher levels of electrolytes that are supposed to speed hydration, like gatorade does. the vitamin waters have all sorts of stuff in them, all dependin on the type. do they work? eh, maybe, maybe not. it's not like the added stuff can hurt you, right? they are more expensive than regular bottled water but bottled water sometimes has its own health risks as well.

my final take on this is: if you are eating a healthy diet and drinking enough water throughout the day anyway...then the smart water isn't really going to matter that much. if you aren't eating a healthy diet and not drinking enough water anyway, then dude, the smart water isn't gonna do that much for you.

I was just talking to my brother about this last night... I told him that it is exactly the same as gatorade with the electrolytes, but it doesn't contain all that sugar, which makes it better, in my opinion than gatorade.  And i recommended him drinking it during his basketball games in place of water.  From what ive learned in school... The electrolytes help the water absorb into the body better than if you just drank water alone.  With electrolytes you get better water replenishment.

But to make a long story short, i really think it works great for athletes, but just to drink it in place of water, isn't really worth it to me.  Id rather just drink figi water, even though its about the same price.

yeah consumers are stupid...but that doesn't mean this water is useless, probably more just unnecessary.  like relrel said, drinking plain water and eating well is just as useful.

this is probably good if you're hungover though...to replace electrolytes and get your water at the same time (without alternating water w/sugary gatorade)...not that i'd know or anything...
