We're going to see Hedda Gabler (with Cate Blanchett and Hugo Weaving in the leading roles) this weekend and I'm really excited about it! I just can't quite figure out what I want to wear. I'd like to dress up so I'm thinking I'll probably wear a skirt.
I could wear this jacket with the brown skirt, and the same brown boots as in the pic. What do you think? I'd also appreciate any other ideas!

The main color on the skirt is dark brown but the stripes are white and light golden brown. Oh, and the jacket is sea foam and white.
I actually think the skirt goes with pretty much everything I own. But the jacket might look cuter with pants. The problem is I don't really have pants I like because I rarely need to dress up.
ive never been to a theater show except for highschool stuff (and im sure that doesn't count!) so i could be wrong...but im a little torn on wearing the boots. i love the skirt and jacket together, but the boots are throwing me off. do you have pumps that could work?
hedda gabler? awesome! have you read the play? we had to read a bunch of ibsen in one of my undergrad lit classes and it was really really super good. and cate b is hedda? wow. im really jealous...you will have such a fun time.

I love all of the pieces but maybe not together. I do agree with the thought that the jacket (so cute, btw) might look better with pants. What a good excuse to go buy a new pair.... :)
I like the colors and patterns mixing together. I do that all of the time. The only potential problem I anticipate is with the silhouette...can you take a picture of your whole outfit together?
I'd wear pumps or closed-toe wedges in brown or teal as opposed to the boots.
Thanks for your input! I do agree about not wearing boots - I guess I just wanted to be warm... Fortunately, I still have a couple of days to plan my outfit. And I'd also appreciate any ideas you ladies might come up with.
Relrel, I haven't read the play but I have seen it once before at a theater and loved it. I can't wait to see Cate Blanchett as Hedda!
I like the jacket and the skirt but the boots and the cami and sweater look very daytime. Theater is more nightime... I can't really talk, though, because I once went to the Phantom of the Opera wearing a thigh-high minidress and heels (it was my romy and michelle phase - I'm not proud of it, but there it is...)

I definitely agree. I wouldn't wear a cami and a cardi to the theater, unless it was one of those tiny, really casual Off Broadway theaters. I'm still not sure about the skirt - I could always wear my knee-length silk dress and maybe dress it down with the jacket.
