which cheapie boots should I get?

I know it's really late in the season, but it's still cold here and I outgrew my favorite pr of tall brown boots after I had my baby and never replaced them.  I happened to notice these two pairs for an excellent price on overstock.  I don't want to spend a lot of money on them b/c boots aren't a priority now that it's spring (also I am not sure how much wear they will get while we live in the desert), but I feel like I need to replace my tall brown J Crew boots that I loved so much.  So, which ones do you prefer:

I'm leaning towards getting these in brown.  I like that they are taller, the wedge heel (I think)and the round toe.  Overstock says there is only one left!  Or, these in wine:

These are a little shorter but I like the wine color.  I would normally get both but I am on a self-imposed shopping ban until next week.

Thanks, nunzi!  I think I'll go with the first ones then (which is what I was thinking).


ETA--thanks also for posting the pics.  Anyone else think the first ones are a good purchase?  I'm a little hesitant since I techinically should be on a shopping ban but I like these and need tall brown boots (and the price is good).  TIA.
