accepting payment on Ebay
Permalink Closed

I know this is the wrong section of the forum, but I'm hoping for some quick feedback.

I just started selling on Ebay and my first item closed today. The buyer wants to pay me via PayPal using her credit card. However, I don't have the premium/business account at PayPal which would allow this to work. I can upgrade, but it means PayPal gets to deduct a certain amount from the payment to cover their own fees. I don't know if it's worth it to upgrade -- any advice?

I upgraded, and it's a lot easier. I don't think they take much out -- it's like 2 or 3 percent, right? I think it helps you as a seller, b/c not everyone wants to pay with a bank transfer (less buyer protection, more wait time, etc). But if you specifically stated no cc's in your listing, she is required to pay by transfer or whatever method you choose.

I found it harder to sell stuff by not taking CC's.  I had to fold too.  Between the Ebay fees and the Paypal fees, I feel like I'm working for them sometimes!
