How do you find deals?
Permalink Closed

As a mom of three boys and a wife of a husband who also likes to shop, I am always trying to find bargains in order for us to stay somewhat fashionalble.  How do you find deals?  What are strategies for saving money on clothes?

Here are a few things I have been doing:

-I frequent the Gap Distribution Center that is nearby.  I can't tell you how much I buy from this place.  They stock Banana Republic, Gap, Old Navy and Forth and Towne items.  I buy for the whole family here.

-Target.  I buy basics for the kids, lingerie, shoes and sometimes clothing for myself.

-Dillards.  I buy at the end of the season Ralph Lauren stuff for my husband and the boys.   I just bought a bunch of Polo stuff for them a few weeks ago which I will save for next year.

-Banana and Gap.  If I see something I really love, I will go ahead and buy it and then get an adjustment when it goes on sale or I rebuy and return.

I would love to hear your ideas!

I just sign up for email notices for my favorite stores. They usually send the emails out as soon as the sales start, so I always know when the stuff I've had my eye on goes on sale. It works for me.

I tend to wait things out and buy it the minute it hits the sales rack online.  I hate trying to find stuff in the stores so I shop a lot online and sometimes its way cheaper online than in the store.  For example Urban Outfitters had gauchos online for $10 but in the store they were $20 and they are still $20 in the store 6 months later and no one is buying them.

I tend to put stuff in my shopping carts and that's how I watch for it to go on sale plus i already have it in there in my size so I can just click and buy.

Also check out ebay.  You can find some good deals on there.
