I wanted to know your opinion or thoughts on Teri Hatcher revealing that she had been sexually molested as a child. Do you think this will help other victims seek help? I was pretty surprised that she had revealed this.

Celebrities reveal terrible things such as this often and I don't feel that it helps more people come forward or stops it from happening.

That is sad news though- I hate to hear that about anyone.

hmm, while i appreciate and admire her coming forth about this...a whole bunch of other celebrites have come forth in the past as well and it still goes on all the time. nothing will ever change with this until a complete shift in society has occured.

I'm pretty cynical when it comes to celebrities and their motives for things like this.  It is a horrific, awful thing for anyone to go through, but when it's a celeb I can't help but think that the publicity benefits them in some way.  I guessed I'm more moved by the average person telling their story in a book, magazine, or on a talk show.

I'm not sure if this is what you are saying, but she didn't come out with this for publicity (which she seems to love, but I digress).  Her uncle molested a young girl and Teri had to testify so he would go to jail.  It makes me so sad that people could be so sick to do that.

Had Teri not come forward, this creep would have gotten away with molesting who knows how many more young girls. I congratulate her for doing so--it can't have been easy.

The young girl in this case committed suicide--it was devastating to her family and friends. She left a note that said why: "Ask (creep) why."

I live in Silicon Valley and this has been big news the last three days. The reaction has been overwhelmingly in her favor.

This image provided by Vanity Fair magazine shows 'Desperate Housewives' Teri Hatcher on the magazine's April 2006 cover.

Usually I think she looks like skeletor, but I think her face and hair are really pretty in this pic.

*Just a random side note.    This is the mag that the article will be in.

I see.  I was confused, I thought that the trial had happened years and years ago.  I didn't know the creep was still out there molesting.  Ick!
