Anyone know how sweetees runs? I am thinking of a couple of summer dresses from them.
Also, I have lost weight lately (somewhat by accident) and now don't really know what size I am. The size guides I find say size 0/2=XS, 4/6=S, for example, but how do you really know what your standard size is? I am all over the map! I wear a 2 and XS at the Gap and Express, I suspect probably a 4 in better designers, and an XS at anthro in pretty much everything. I seem to be between 26 and 27 in jeans. I measure 34-24-34. Oddly, measurement charts seem to want a person with my waist and hips to have smaller boobs, which would make me a pear, but I am not. So do you go with your boob size, or let the boob part stretch and go with what fits your waist and hips?
Also James Perse - I have a dress from him that I absolutely SWIM in and now I realize it's because of his weird sizing I inadvertantly got the equivalent of a large or medium (james perse size 3). So do I take a 1 or a 2 in James Perse? Argh... help!

Hey DC--Not sure if this will help much but I am about your size (I have lost wait recently and I went from a 27 to a 26 in jeans and am a 2 in most pants, maybe 4 in Theory). I have a JP dress that I *think* is a 2. 3s are huge and would swallow you, and a 1 is too small for my boobs. So, I'd say your probably in between a 1 and a 2 in James Perse. I know that's not very helpful, but I think whether you want to go up or down would depend upon the item (dress, shirt, pants) and how fitted you want it to be. Also, keep in mind that JP is all cotton and will shrink a little, even if you wash it in cold water and avoid putting in the dryer. For the sweetees dresses, that;s a tough dilemma but I'd personally go with a 4/6, despite being in between sometimes a 2 and sometimes a 4 myself (usually b/c the 2 won't fit my chest). For me, I'd rather it be a little too big and get it taken in than have it be too small. Also, if it's a flowy summer dress than you might have some leeway. For what it's worth, AAJ in Arlington has some sweetees tops and I think one sweetees dress if you want to try it on irl. They also have James Perse dresses. I'm working there on Sunday--come in and see me!
sweetees runs kinda small, imo. i remember getting a top in xs and i totally remember it squishing my boobs (sorry for the visual), and i don't even have that big of a chest (32C). as for james perse, i'd guess you'd be a 2 and for theory probably a 3/4. hth!
I'm wearing a size 2 JP tee in my TS...it fits well but is thin so it's a bit sheer. I have 34Ds and wear a 2/4 and S at BR/GAP, et. al. I wear 27/28 in most jeans.
You sound exactly one size smaller than me. I think that you would want to get size 2s in JP because it shrinks. I would get an S in Sweetees. IMO the XS is for the completely flat-chested girl. I think you're a 2 at Theory...I've always been a 4 in Theory pants and I think you'd have major slouch if you wore size 4.
I don't know your chest measurements...but I would say that a Small would probably be good. If I remember correctly, Sweetees fit pretty tight. If you don't have a chest, you might get a way with an XS.
