I recently became a sushi fanatic. What are your favorite kinds, STers?

I love the California Roll (w/out eggs). I also love crab rolls.

Do you use the wasabi? I put mine in the soy sauce.

i love the philly roll (it has cream cheese), the lobster roll, spicy tuna, cali roll, and almost any sashimi pieces. 


when i was in philly this year i had some rolls with tempura flakes in it and it was really good for the texture. 


the only things i don't like are the eel (i used to only eat this, but it just grosses me out now), and the tako sashimi piece.

I love it all, but my faves are probably philly roll, cali roll, and anything with tuna.

I love eel rolls, shirmp tempura rolls, and most of all UNI!!!!!! Uni is sea urchin...so gooood...mmmmm.

I've tried, I really have - I eat all sorts of unsavory critters. But sushi just makes me gag. I think it's the seaweed. I just tried again & spit it out - sorry if that's TMI - I really want to like it but I just can't!

I love sushi!  Especially spicy tuna rolls and yellowtail! *drool*  My absolute favorite rolls are a "firecracker" roll, which is spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber, and regular tuna with big pieces of spicy tuna on top and what my local sushi chef calls the "vegas" roll: eel, avocado, crab, tempura bits, and cream cheese.  I also like salmon and yellowtail nigiri.  Ok, now I'm hungry. 


laken1, if you despise seaweed but still want to try sushi, maybe try ordering nigiri.  It's a slice of fish on top of a little bit of rice with a small amount of wasabi.  Most of the time, there's no seaweed involved.

ooh I'm headed for sushi tonight.  I love shrimp tempura, crawfish rolls, cali rolls, philly rolls, and cucumber rolls.  I tend to get mine without any mayo (I can't stand the stuff)  and I like the small rolls.  Man I went to one place a few weeks ago and they made my cali roll larger than a half dollar.  i was so sad.   I put my wasabi in the soy sauce.  I am so hungry now.

I usually lean toward the custom rolls they have at restaurants where they mix several things together. The ingredients I most enjoy are yellow tail, eel, eel sauce, tempura flakes, tuna, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, salmon, and soft shell crab.

yum, I haven't had sushi, other than a bite, in over two years because I have either been pregnant or breastfeeding.  I loved the Spicy Tuna, Salmon and Yellowtail!!  I don't touch the wasabi, but I love lots of soy sauce because I have a taste for salt.

I love sushi but I don't eat strange critters... which somewhat limits my options My  favorites are salmon skin, yellowtail, and spicy tuna. Of course right now I can't have any sushi at all

i think i love it all except for white fish.  just not for me.


i had a surf & turf roll and that was the greatest thing EVAH !!  i had never seen this on a menu before so maybe it was the restaurant specialty roll or somehting.
