Opinions on espadrilles
Permalink Closed

So, I'm trying to figure out what I want for spring, and I definitely want a pair of espadrilles.  I don't want the kind that tie around the ankle, and I want a really versatile color.  What do we think about these?

The only thing that makes me hesitant is that they're $118.  Is that a lot for a cute pair of espadrilles?  The color and style is perfect for me.  Thoughts?

NC - if you're interested in either of these, I'd be happy to give you a review.

 - I own these

MICHAEL Michael Kors ´Palm Beach´ Sandal - these should be coming today in the mail, but I think I'm going to love these and return the BR ones.

I have a sandal really similar to this, but it's just a regular wedge, no an espadrille wedge, and I find them really versatile.

But I can see why you'd be hesitant at spending over $100 on espadrilles (ouch )

I'd love to hear a review of the BR one, shopchicago33!

I guess my main concern about spending the money on the Charles David ones is how long they'd last.  I've never had espadrilles before and so I don't know how long I can expect them to stay in good shape.  I'm assuming Charles David shoes are pretty decent quality, but I'd just be bummed if I spent $118 on them and couldn't wear them next summer, you know?

If you girls want, I can take a picture of the BR ones on me tonight?

They are pretty high - I'd say at least 3 inches.  They don't come in half sizes.  I'm normally a 7.5 in BR shoes, so I went w/the 7 - the 8 was just too big and there was too much extra room in front by the toes.  They seem pretty comfy, but I obviously haven't worn them anywhere other than my house.

Let me know if you want a picture tonight.

Sure!  I'd love to see a pic!  I'm thinking those BR ones could be a good alternative.

my opinion (take with a grain of salt).... is that espradrilles maybe invest less $$ in, and if you want wedges, maybe invest more money in a leather pair.  i have last year's version of those Michael Kors ones and i love them, but i "baby" them, so if it's raining or anything, i don't wear them.  i wear a 5 year old pair of leather ones from kenneth cole (which, unfortunately need to be replaced this year).

here's some i found for cheaper:

$35 from VS (i might get the yellow pair).

also, if you like those michael kors ones, i know that nordstrom has free shipping right now on shoes.

LOL!!!!!  So true!  Thanks for the pics!  I think if it were raining, I'd wear some other shoes, at least until I got in the office.  I'd hate to ruin them in the rain.

shopchicago - pics would be great (as long as highheels isn't lurking ).  Also, I'll be interested to hear your comparison of the br and kors.

NCshopper - I think the br shoes are a nice, less expensive alternative to the Charles David ones you posted.

shopgirl82 - love the yellow!

Ewww - I thought the same thing!  I will probably post the pics tonight and then take them down by tomorrow morning.  You just never know what kind of creep w/a foot fetish is lurking on here!

that's why i took the pics down that i posted, they were GIANT feet pics.  i had images of highheels, and Buster from the SATC episode in my head when i posted them.  i had to take them down.
