I just got my company laptop last Friday, they're adding the wireless network thing to it today. I have a ?, but I'm afraid to ask, so maybe y'all can help me.
If I want to use the internet on it, do I have to buy internet access or will I be able to access the internet through the company network?
You shouldn't have to pay for it, period. Once it locates a wireless signal, you should be able to log on through Internet Explorer. If the wireless signal isn't secure, you can just hop on, but if it is secure, you'll have to ask your company's IT person for the WEP code to get on the secured network.
you will be able to access it through your work computer. they should have explorer loaded on it. at least mine does. mine is not wireless though - too many firewalls required for my company.

wait, are you asking about internet access at work or what happens when you take it home?
at work, once they install the wireless network you should be fine at work. i would hope to hell that the it guys would load the security code at the same time as the entire network.
if you do take it home, you should just be able to double click on the little wireless icon and it will bring up a list of open networks in the area. just pick one and get surfing. mind you, this is technically stealing. you can get a wireless connection for your house through any major interent access company which you will have to pay for.
