I'm going to do some major spring/summer shopping in a few weeks, so I'm starting to scour the internet for a "wish list". So many of you seem so to have yours so organized. What do you do? Do you copy and paste outfits together and save them to your computer? Put what you like from different stores into your cart and save that way? Please head me in the right direction. I want to be organized this year so I don't buy a lot of random stuff that doesn't go together, but I'm not too computer savvy.
an excel spreadsheet i categorize it by clothing, accessories, shoes, home, jewelry, electronics, pharmacy/beauty, and other (magazine subscriptions, etc....)
within each category i have a space for description, website/store to purchase it (i will also include a coupon code if there is one in this column), price, and bought (i write bought in bold letters or you can highlight that column, whatever works for you).
i have a folder with pictures saved to my computer of exact items that i want (they are usually the same as what's on the excel sheet.
i save the picture with the name of the designer, the website and price in the name of the picture so i remember where i got it. i do this so that i can mix and match. so if i want a striped top, and red wedges, i can see if there's something that i might need that will help me work those pieces into my wardrobe. also, right now i have a ton of dresses, so seeing them lined up helps me realize what kind of shoes i need that will work with most of the dresses.
i have a folder with pictures saved to my computer of great outfits.
these are looks that i like that may not be affordable or that i have all the pieces except one, or just even great color combos. this folder is often what makes me add pieces to my excel spreadsheet. like maybe i've seen a red belt with a white top and black pencil skirt. well, i have the white top and black pencil skirt, so that reminds me to add a red belt to my wishlist to create that look (i also have a binder with looks that i like).
i'm a huge dork though. i've tried to e-mail the spreadsheet to other girls before and for some reason it's not working, but pm me if you have any questions.

I do a couple things. Sometimes I just copy and paste the pictures of clothes/shoes/bags over to an email and save it as a draft. Sometimes, I also do what shopgirl82 does, and I save the pictures to a folder on my computer. And I also create wish lists at places like Anthro, etc. HTH!
shopgirl82 and I have pretty much the same spreadsheet. Mine's set up the same way. I copy and paste the link to what I want on the spreadsheet. I've tried copying the pictures into a word document, but that doesn't usually work. I haven't thought about saving the pictures just as .jpgs in a folder though!!! Genius!!!
I also have wishlists up on Anthro, UO, Nordstrom, etc., but most of the time my wish lists are more like "lust lists" and have very little to do with reality, so I use my spreadsheet to figure out what I can buy, when.
I save pics of all my wishes in a folder on my computer too. Then, play with them in a word document, make outfits and figure out what the holes.
Before I start spring or fall shopping, I do a big closet clean-out to assess what I have and will wear again. Many times I forget what I had bought last summer! Then I'll add pieces to the list that will freshen up what I already own.
Lastly (and this may seem strange), I think through what kinds of activities are coming up - baby/wedding showers, vacations, work stuff...and what I want to wear for them. This keeps me from scrambling at the last minute to try to make something work.
