dealing with the secuirty tag

I bought a pair of fishnet leggings at the American Rag sale similar to these and I can't WAIT to wear them.

Fishnet Capri Footless Tights

The problem is that they FORGOT to take off the security tag. To be fair, I didn't know there was a scurity tag because it was embedded in the packaging. Can I take them off with pliers or something?

Or should I just take it to the store I originally bought it at and make them take it off for me. It's just that I'm never in the part of town where the boutique is so it's a hassle.

pliers should get it off, you'll have to work at it though.........unless it's an ink tag if so pop it in the freezer for awahile then remove.

P.S. girls I'm not a shop lifter years of retail has lent me an ear on taking off stubborn tags.

I should probably go to bed now.............one to many grey goose w/ oj has me silly.

Hmmm...I've never heard of putting it in the freezer before.  If it is ink, cover the little holes with tape too.  If your doubting just bring it back to the store.  So many people are so dumb and try ripping them off, um why do you think they put those there in the first place?!  They end up coming back anyways after they ruined the item.

this happened to my friend once and my SO successfully got them off with pliers but i know it wasn't easy.

maybe you could try taking it to a store more nearby (maybe one you shop at a lot where they might know you) and bring the recipt and just explain the situation and they could take it off for you ... it could look sketchy though ... i'm just thinking that, being a kind of delicate garment in the first place, you could easily damage the leggings which would suck.

if my SO has any tips when he gets home i'll let you know.

The freezer freezes the ink so it won't run when you take it off.

My last boss taught me this

That is what I thougt, but you would think they would put a non-freezing chemical in there!

Maybe you could take it to a different store and ask them to take it off... I know that I have stores that I regular and know the people really well that work there, so they wouldn't think it was weird if I asked them to do it for me. I know I would just screw it up, so I wouldn't risk trying to take it off myself.

This happened to me before and it would have cost me an hour and a half drive to fix the problem at the store, so I went to a store I have been to a few times in town, and brought the receipt, and they took off the tag for me.  It was mortifying, but worth it.
