Parking Lots - Far Away or Close?
Permalink Closed

Do you like to park your car close to the store, near the front door, or far away, away from baskets, other cars, etc.? Me, I prefer to be close to the door, not that I mind walking, but sometimes I'm just not up for it. LOL Then when I do have to park away from the store, by the time I get out of my car & start walking, there are several cars already leaving, or have left. Oh well. LOL What about you?

my choice now since buying an Expedition is the spot with the most room and all sides, where I won't get hit by anyone, where we can climb in and out comfortably, and where I won't hit anyone.  Spots next to those islands are great.  They are always a bit roomier and I don't have to worry when the kids fling the doors opened. Usually the spots with the most room are not the closest. If I am shopping alone at night then no matter what I drive I will park close to the store and in a well lit area.  Paranoid? I think just safe.

i choose the first spot i see. (unless it's obstructed by carts or too narrow etc.) weather it's the closest spot to the door or the spot furthest away. i hate wasting my time driving around looking for the perfect spot.

Due to my husband saying to me constantly for six years now "park in a door-ding free zone!"  I have it ingrained in me to walk from far away.  Our cars are in good shape too!

Close and somewhere with plenty of room if I am with the toddler.  Another reason is for safety, I have this weird phobia of being mugged in a parking lot.  But in a safe area in broad daylight, if I am without the kid, I will park far away to avoid door dings.

Ditto. Plus, I like to walk so parking far away isn't a big deal to me. Also, I try to avoid door dings as much as possible.

I prefer close if there's one immediately available, but I will not drive around looking for a close parking space when there are perfectly good spaces further away.

Kind of an odd question..

I never thought much about parking, I just find a spot and park. I don't hang out waiting for something close, just go where ever.
