Rave: Kiehl's Store
Permalink Closed

I normally buy Kiehl's at Nordstroms, but last night I was at a mall that has its own Kiehl's store (and no Nordies), so I went in to get some silk groom for DH.

It was about 8:45 and the store was getting ready to close, but the SA greeted me *immediately* and asked if she could help. I told her what I was looking for, and she led me to it. She then pointed out the three sizes, "mondo" (which cracked me up), "8.6 oz." (or whatever the medium size is) and "2.2" for the small size. But she did this in almost like a radio DJ voice - it was really funny, though I know it probably doesn't come across well.

When ringing me up, she actually checked my CC and asked for my ID (ask for ID is written across the back of my card), and then she asked if DH would like any samples. I told her yes, and she gave him some shaving cream and something else, then asked my skin type and put in samples for me in as well. She asked me to please let DH know that he will get better product results if he uses a very thin layer of the shave cream.

Throughout the transaction she was friendly and helpful and really interacted with me. When I was leaving, she thanked me by name.

I spent 90 minutes at the mall and this was the last store I went to. And I didn't get nearly the level of CS that I got at Kiehl's. It was so awesome that I left the mall feeling about two steps lighter than when I got there. I don't know if all Kiehl's SA's are like this, but I'd highly recommend their stand-alone stores. That was better CS than I ever got at Nordie's when I've bought Kiehl's products there.

yeah, the NYC store is great. It's always busy (and on the weekends, packed), but the SA's always answer my questions very politely -- I never feel like they're rushing to get me to buy or make a decision. It's a great shopping experience -- and the free samples are so generous. I love trying their new products!

the kiehl's store is one of my favorite places b/c of their service. i think i've been to the one you're talking about (it's the one in the mall with the neiman's right?) and the people were so nice. i was with my mom, and all i bought was lotion. they gave me a ton of samples, and then when my mom was like she never tried kiehl's before (commenting to me not the sa) the sa loaded her up with samples too.

You are right, honey. It's in Lenox Square. I don't get to that mall often - there is a good one closer to where I live in the 'burbs - but I do enjoy shopping there. Except on Saturdays or at holiday time. I swear, that mall seems to be *always* busy. I'm glad they treated you and your mom so well when you were here!

Although I've never been to a stand-alone one, I've found that the Kiehls SAs at the counters are great. I've talked to them for literally a half hour about the products, and they always give me free samples. The company seems great

i love the kiehl's store. their service is top notch! they are never stingy with samples. i have seen on more than one occasion in the nyc store on 3rd avenue a SA giving samples to a homeless person. i kid you not.

altgirl - i think your hubby will like their shaving cream. my bf used it for years.. but now he uses a brush and art of shaving cream... but he still likes to use kiehl's when he travels.

I love this...most places tell you to slather stuff on (or use lots of soap, or whatever) so they can sell you more.  I love the Kiehl's store.

And yay...Lenox...that's my mall.   Which reminds me, we should really do a Atl. get-together soon!

I agree, the Kiehl's customer service is really top notch! Their SAs are so knowledgeable. The first time I went in the NYC one I had picked out products that were wrong for my skintype. When I got to the checkout counter the SA looked at my skin, and then came out to help me get a whole different assortment, which turned out to be great (of course). I've gotten my BF into their Creme de Corps body lotion too.

I love Kiehl's.  I used to frequent the one in downtown Philly and I agree, they are great.  They are very free to give samples (even if you are just buying lip gloss).
