I've determined I must have expensive tastes by default

Everytime a magazine will have a page on a specific clothing item, and show say, 10 of that item, it never fails that the one I like the best on the page is always the most expensive.

I don't look at prices first either.

Example (in case I didn't 'splain well): Say the item they're showing is v-neck
sweaters; They'll have 10 different ones on a page. I'll always like the most expensive (or one of the most expensive) one the best.

Anyone else?

Me too!  It's a running joke in my house, and it shocks the hell out of everyone (including me) when I find something cheap that I like better.

ladies, don't worry...

it's not like you'll be able to find them outside of the magazines even if they are affordable (or you want to splurge)!

Same here!  Sometimes I play a game and try to guess which is the most expensive without looking at the prices first.

9 times out of 10 me too... I like to think it's b/c I have an eye for quality (said in faux upperclass British accent)

I do too. I agree with Starstuff that it's because our eyes are attuned to things that are of better quality.

I'm exactly the same way too.  It's particularly bad when the Lucky shoe guide comes out.  No matter if there are 30 pairs of shoes on a page, my eye automatically jumps to THE most expensive out of them all.

What's up with that???

me too...it's horrible when I read Lucky because I feel like I'm shopping IRL and thinking "well geez all the other stuff looks so icky and cheap" as my eye automatically jumps to the item that costs $53765063589.

Last week my BF was reading In Style over my shoulder and couldn't believe how expensive some of the stuff was -- and some of it wasn't really that bad, relatively speaking.  He was blown away by spending $300 on a pair of shoes.  I have a couple pairs that I've spent that much on but it's not my norm at all.  I think he'd be upset if he knew that...

Me too.  I will even cover prices, and show my DH the catalog or whatever and ask him which I like best.  He always picks the right one, and inevitabley it is the most expensive.  Sheesh.

me too.  even when looking at the sale racks at DSW- i always am drawn to the Marc Jacobs or Moschino shoes without even realizing what they are before I pick them up.

same thing at the jewelry stores- i always ask to see the most expensive piece in the display case.  it drives the BF insane!!!!!!!!
