drugstore powder rec?
Permalink Closed

I broke my Stila's Illuminating Powder Foundation on the way to work today. I now have about three days worth of powder left remaining. I need a new powder from the drugstore, since drugstores are all I have within walking distance (granted, there's like 5 drugstores and 2 are 24 hr, but I digress...)

It would be great if said powder has similar properties to Stila's IPF, but not absolutely neccessay. Also, must be under $10.

The only one I won't do is the Cover Girl ones unless they've changed in the 7 years since I used them in middle school.

I have to say CG has really changed lately. I would give them a shot (and if it sucks whatever it's $4!). CG pressed powders are probably going to be less coverage than the Stila powder you usually use.

Those L'oreal color match things that come in Warm, Neutral, Cool... I bought a blush from that line and I found the quality to be very good.

There is also one from Neutragena that is mineral makeup and is a brush dispensing powder, but I think this one is $13. Drug store prices are going up up up!

I second Neutrogena powder. I don't break out from any of their products because they're oil free. I also think that's the most similar to Stila as you're going to get.

I'm not familiar with the Stila powder, but I got a face powder from Physician's Formula two years ago that had a slight sheen/glow to it, and I really liked it. While it was a limited-edition powder (Marilyn Monroe's face was embossed on the surface), companies will sometimes re-issue a formula and just call it something else.

Thank you girls for your recommendations! I'll probably look tomorrow at the store.

I am so angry at all the price raising crap...if a drugstore powder is already $13...why would I not just spend the extra ten bucks to get the higher end stuff?

Jane powder is great, and it's under $5.
