ladies Iam looking for a good person that does house cleaning. I had a lady come and give me a price for the first time deep clean it would 150.00 and then if she comes for just a basic clean it would 65.00. I have a small three bedroom and one bath home. I put this topic here b/c I figured I would get more traffic. Iam willing to pay the money if it is done right. What do you think?

Our cleaning lady charges $60 for minimum 3 hours. I haven't heard of anyone doing the first "deep cleaning" for $150. Maybe keep looking?

I agree with Metric.  I think I would keep looking.  I feel like whatever the price is that is for whatever they can get done in that allotted time.

That sounds too expensive, kaykay.  I'd keep looking too.

I feel like when I was considering it it was a lot less.

well what's meant by deep clean? i would inquire about what goes into the services. i always want to get a cleaning person but i live in a tiny apt and feel that i should just do it myself. i got an estimate once and it was $45 (my apt is only 850 sq ft!).. and that was no laundry, no dishes.

my area is pretty ridiculous but i guess find out what services are in deep clean. also call other cleaning services and see what their prices are for comparison.

well a  deep clean would cover giving the kitchen a waxing, wiping the kitchen cabniets out, wiping out the fridge, mini blinds dusted, the a/c vents dusted (the ones in each of the rooms ). She also lives about a hr away and this includes her mileage and the reg. cleaning of 65.00 includes the mileage. There is a local company here that I used in the past and I was not pleased with them.

if you choose to use that lady, i would have her do a regular clean at $65 to see what kind of job she does, then if she's good, and you think the deep clean is worth it, i would do that.  there's no point in paying $150 for a deep clean, if she can't do a good job with the regular clean.

I think it is pretty common for a higher deep cleaning fee to start things out.  However, I don't think you should have to pay for her mileage.  Very few people get paid for their commute.  If that is the standard in the industry, I'd look for someone closer.
