Dark-dyed olive green jeans. Why? Where does one buy such an item? They look new, too... this has me so intrigued today (unlike admin law). Did he buy them 15 years ago, and save them, knowing that they would eventually go out of style and be unavailable in stores? Did his mother buy them and save them for him to grow into? Is he wearing his brother's hand-me-down pants? Do they have sentimental value, and so he can't bear to part with them even though they could be up to 20 years old? Are there people in college younger than his jeans? Or is he an eccentric multi-millionaire who can afford to have his jeans custom-made - in olive green, of course...
I used to work with this girl who just astounded me with her wardrobe. She was a total stuck-in-the-80's banger chick in silk shirts (always red) and fancy-ass jeans (no pockets but lots of rhinestones!) fringed suede boots. Her clothes always looked fairly newish too. Where do you buy fancy-ass jeans new? Do you just buy like 20 pairs in 1980 and take a new one out each year? Do you not realize that NO ONE else walking down the street has skin-tight acid wash jeans and feathered hair? Have you not looked at a fashion magazine or watched tv in 20 years?
Newport News has these gems and a myriad of other beaded, jeweled jeans...
Appalling isn't it?
Evidently they also have colored jeans in that Olive shade Dizzy mentioned. Actually the color chart for denim was truly horrific!

OMG! I had olive-green jeans in 1994. They were slim-fit, super high rise button fly ones from Miller's Outpost. I wore them with a burgundy sweater and I thought I was the sh*t. LOL!

Oh, I did too. Except mine were Bongo from JC Penney (but I loved Miller's too). I had sooo many colors of Bongo jeans in high school. Just off the top of my head I can remember having green, burgundy, brown, black, white, pink and many shades of blue. I must say, though, that back then they were on of the only brands selling "long" length jeans.
Speaking of buying things years earlier, I had a friend in college who had a pair of Kangaroos that looked brand spanking new! This was 1995 and they hadn't made a comeback yet. I was assuming it was an awesome thrift store find, but he told me his mom found them really cheap during the original heyday and bought them because they would fit him someday. They did, when he was in his 20s.
I think it's just Prof.'s in genereal. Ask Kari about her admin law prof's style....it's hilarious. I'll make her post...maybe we can sneak a pic of him...
